Honoring the Heroes of Operation Dragoon
The 36th Infantry Division joined the American Battle Monuments Commission in commemorating the 80th Anniversary of Operation Dragoon at the Rhone American Cemetery in Draguignan, France.
This sacred ground is the final resting place for over 860 brave American Soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice during World War II.
Their courage and dedication paved the way for the liberation of Southern France and ultimately contributed to the Allied victory in Europe. We stand in remembrance of these heroes and the profound legacy they left behind.
As the 36th Infantry Division, we are deeply proud of our historical ties to Operation Dragoon and remain committed to honoring the sacrifices of all who served.
Patriot Day is a national day of remembrance for the lives lost and the brave first responders who sacrificed everything during the September 11, 2001, attacks. Today, we honor the memory of those patriots and their families, recognizing their courage and dedication in the face of unimaginable tragedy.
Our Soldiers recently participated in an intense Water Survival Course, earning a critical certification that ensures they can meet the demanding requirements of tactical marine units, a component of Operation Lone Star, while demonstrating our commitment to excellence and readiness.
