In memory of the 19 children and two teachers who were killed in the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, the City of El Paso will host several tributes on Sunday, May 29, 2022, to allow the public an opportunity to grieve together and honor the community of Uvalde.

STAR ON THE MOUNTAIN
The City of El Paso in collaboration with the El Paso Chamber will light the Star on the Mountain in honor of the 21 victims of Uvalde at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, May 29, 2022.

UNITE WITH LIGHT
As a sign of unity, the community is encouraged to light their front yards, porches and windows with candles, twinkle lights, luminarias, or other lighting starting at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2022.
• The public art lighting encircling the Abraham Chavez Theater and the public art along I-10 and Airway will be illuminated blue in unity with Uvalde.
• El Paso International Airport’s terminal and landscaping lights will also be illuminated blue in unity with Uvalde. The public is invited to visit the lights and walk or drive along the path.

MOMENT OF SILENCE AT PONDER PARK
Mayor Pro Tem Peter Svarzbein and Rep. Cassandra Hernandez invite the community to come together in a solemn moment of silence at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, at Ponder Park, 7500 W. H. Burges, near the August 3, 2019 mass shooting memorial site.

Visitors will be invited to add their names to an electronic condolence book, which will be provided to Uvalde. The link to add names will be available via QR code at the park.

The event, which will not feature any speakers, asks the community to come together in a moment of silence just as the Star on the Mountain is lit in honor of Uvalde.

 Receives shift instructions and drawer from Manager and reviews Front Desk Log.
 Counts and verifies bills and coins in drawer.
 Generates current house status and pre-registration report.
 Closes the Night Audit function that rolls day over and processes charges. Prints and email reports out to ownership and management.
 Performs daily bucket checks.
 Keeps current knowledge of marketing programs, special rates and promotions applicable to the hotel and presents to guests.
 Checks in guests, establishes credit and assigns rooms according to standard operating procedures.
 Verifies guest history information, issues guest room key, and answers guest inquiries. Ensures guest is aware of all hotel services and amenities.
 Answers switchboard promptly, relaying calls and recording messages when necessary.
 Receives and sort incoming mail and prepares outgoing mail.
 Pre-blocks and pre-registers groups or tours as assigned.
 Receives documents and places wake-up-calls.
 Post any and all incidental charges to guest folios.
 Checks out guests, finalizes folio, collects payment, and obtains guest room key.
 Resolves customer complaints, recording specific complaint information.
 Maintains and cleans immediate work area.
 Balances drawer at the end of shift and prepares cash drop and records on Cash Drop Log.
 Records significant information to Front Desk Log.
 Maintains compliance with company policies, practices, procedures and safety standards.
 Inspects all conference rooms and common areas each day to ensure security standards are met.
 Reports in proper uniform, which is cleaned and pressed with nametag everyday.
 To be familiar with local competition and rates.
 To attend and participate in staff meetings.
 To handle all incoming reservations and record properly.
 To be familiar with the local area surrounding the hotel with regards to restaurants, gas stations, etc.
 To handle inquires, both phone and in person, giving property tours when at all possible.
 To perform daily, area hotel availability checks.
 Washes, dries and folds laundry during their shift according to the Laundry Attendant guidelines.
 Restocks Sundry Shop.
 Performs other duties as assigned by a member of management.
