We are very fortunate to have such a talented group of Veterans and other residents. Recently, our Veterans showcased their music skills for all to hear. We love the beautiful music they make and look forward to the next concert🎹🎸

We had K-9s visit our Veterans Home and the residents enjoyed having the opportunity to spend time with them. The dogs made sure to visit every resident throughout the facility. We love to see our Veterans so happy🐶🐾

Our residents enjoy going on outings every month. During Resident Council, they vote on where they want to go. For June, they voted to go to Golden Corral for their monthly outing and they enjoyed themselves.

The Veterans and other residents at our home enjoyed a refreshing no-alcoholic “cold one” to cool off from the El Paso heat. Our residents always enjoy an opportunity to kick back, relax, and socialize.

The 4th of July is important to our Veterans and residents, so we always make sure we celebrate our country’s independence in style.

Our residents enjoy opportunities to celebrate, and we did just that for our residents whose birthdays were in June. Happy Birthday!

Our residents and staff celebrated June birthdays with a party! If there is one thing that our residents enjoy it is the monthly birthday parties!

Our Veterans and other residents recently participated in a fun activity, assembling their own kites. Unfortunately, the El Paso wind didn't cooperate, but we still had a great time getting together and spending some time outside🪁

Earlier this month, we celebrated Father's Day with a fun 1920s theme, complete with poker and blackjack tables. Our Veterans. and residents had a blast placing their bets and trying to keep a good poker face. We can't wait for the next event ♣️♥️♣️♦️

Our home celebrated the service of our Women Veterans on June 12, 2024. We wanted to show our appreciation and admiration by giving them special bears signifying the branch that they served in, as well as shirts to commemorate the occasion. The shirts were provided by Valerie Arroyos from Trinity Hospice. We have 3 Women Veterans who served in the Army, 2 in the Air Force, and 1 Marine Corps. We are grateful for their service!

On Memorial Day, our Veterans and staff at Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home honored the memory of those we lost in service to our nation. We are grateful for their service and they are not forgotten🇺🇸

Superheroes Unite! Our Veterans and staff had a great time creating superhero masks and dressing up as their favorite crime-fighter. We even had a special visit from Captain America! The fun never stops!

Way out here is West Texas at high noon, our Veterans and staff brought out their best western wear and celebrated the Wild West in style. We love to see our Veterans smile and have fun!

Aloha! Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home recently celebrated Hawaiian Day where staff dressed up for the occasion and residents participated in Hawaiian themed activities. We look forward to the next event.

Painting is a popular activity at our home, and as the weather gets warmer, residents are enjoying a day of painting in the courtyard.

Our residents had the best time out on the lake, enjoying the weather and catching “The Big One.” 🎣

We are celebrating Nurses Week at Ambrosio Guillen and our residents are the reason for everything we do! We've had activities focused on our nursing heroes and our residents have had a great time showing their appreciation.

As the weather heats up in El Paso, we are providing our residents with a way to cool down. What better way to cool down than to eat some delicious ice cream! We host ice cream socials at our home on a regular basis🍦🍨

The health and well-being of our Veterans and other residents is always our number one priority. We offer classes to keep them active, while also adding the element of fun to keep them engaged.

At our home, we always take the opportunity to thank our wonderful volunteers for all their hard work. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to do so many activities, and our residents love having their support. We held a recognition lunch in their honor. Thank you all for everything you do for our residents! We appreciate you!

We love to celebrate our residents on their birthday! We throw parties each month for our Veterans and their families. Happy birthday to our residents who are celebrating a birthday in April. 🎂🎁

As the weather warms up, our residents are spending more time outdoors. They have been growing flowers in anticipation of planting them in our courtyard. They enjoy working with their hands and watching their flowers grow. 🌺🌹🌷

There is always something exciting happening at the Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home. This month, we held a pet parade and marched through the entire facility. Our residents were so excited to see and pet all the dogs in the parade! We love to see our Veterans so happy🐶🐾

Our residents love going on trips, especially when that trip is to see a baseball game! We had a great time taking our Veterans to see the El Paso Chihuahuas play last week. We can't wait for the next game.

U.S. Army Veteran and Texas VLB Onsite Representative Don Parrott was recognized, along with his partners from the El Paso Veterans and Riders Association, for their service and impact on the Veterans Community in El Paso. They were recognized by State Representative Claudia Ordaz and given a resolution to commemorate the occasion. We are very proud and honored to have Don at Ambrosio Guillen Texas State Veterans Home!

The Veterans and other residents at our home have continued to showcase their artistic abilities with every opportunity. They thoroughly enjoy creating masterpieces.

Residents from our home had the opportunity to visit with several local horses. These horses are trained for therapy and the residents enjoy petting, feeding, and brushing them.

On April 9th, residents at our home took time to recognize and remember our Prisoners of War and those Missing in Action (POW/MIA). “You are not forgotten”.

We are very fortunate to have an outstanding group of people who go above and beyond every day to assist our Veterans and other residents. We wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate Nubia Legarda for going the extra mile to ensure our Veterans are cared for. We appreciate you, Nubia!

Our kitchen staff does an amazing job of preparing meals for our Veterans and other residents at the home. Each month, the residents vote on a specific meal that they want served. Bon Appétit!
