Academy Award winner Mira Sorvino 🌟 will be at the 17th annual Plaza Classic organized by the 🎥, running July 18-28 in Downtown El Paso.

Sorvino will attend the screening of "Mighty Aphrodite" 🎬, for which she won Best Supporting Actress 🏆, at 7 pm on Friday, July 19, and "Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion" 🎉 at 3:30 pm on Saturday, July 20. Tickets are $10 each 🎟️, available at the Plaza Theatre Box Office and Ticketmaster.

Sorvino, daughter of late actor Paul Sorvino 🎭, has starred in numerous films including "Quiz Show," "Norma Jean & Marilyn," "Mimic," and last year’s "Sound of Freedom," highlighting her passion for combating human trafficking. A Harvard graduate 🎓 and UN Goodwill Ambassador 🌍, she’s a strong advocate against human trafficking and has been active in the and movements.

Sorvino joins fellow Academy Award winner Sissy Spacek 🌟, who will appear with "Coal Miner’s Daughter" on July 27. The festival features over 90 films 🎞️ from July 18-28. Tickets are available at the box office and Ticketmaster, with passes and special event tickets on sale at plazaclassic.com/tickets.

Since people are talking so much about the WNBA- can we take a moment to celebrate the first Alaska Native woman to get drafted??
Alissa Pili is Samoan and Inupiaq and from my hometown of Anchorage, Alaska. She played basketball for my old high school, Dimond High, and led them to two state championships.
She was drafted to the Minnesota Lynx.

Animal Services shifts expansion plan to Westside As El Paso Animal Services continues to address severe overcrowding at the city-run animal shelter, the department is changing its plans to build 400 new kennels in Northeast El Paso.

The first thing we need to do is help calm. The brain can’t think and it definitely can’t learn if they are distressed. You know your child and what will work to help them calm, it might be a hug or letting them sit away from everyone. The most important thing is that they need a calm adult with them. We know that nervous systems will “mirror” those around them, they will literally match the arousal level of others. This is why it is so important that we remain calm. You could try doing some controlled breathing with your child. If they don’t want to do it, then you do it, it will still help.

Here it is Pride Enthusiasts! The official 2024 Pride season schedule release is here! We hope you all are as excited as we are! In addition to this main schedule, we will be having free movie Fridays where we will release that schedule separately.

Our board have worked extremely hard to keep this season as affordable as possible for our Pridegoers. The TOTAL minimum cost for every ticketed event all month is only $135. Keep an eye out for our early bird sales to save even more $$!
