“My name is Jamie Lea Power and I have been in the floral industry for over 25 years, and here at T&CG as the Director of Events for 15 years. I absolutely love everything about my job, however the one thing that stands out is all of the amazing couples I have been so fortunate to collaborate with. My clients are my favorite! When I'm not at work, I am having the best time being a momma to my two amazing kiddos, Evelynne and Isaac. We love spending time at the zoo and the park (well...really anything outside), watching Disney movies (Little Mermaid and Beauty & The Beast are my favorites) and playing board games and doing puzzles. I am truly blessed to have found my forever career that also happens to be something I am incredibly passionate about. My favorite flower you ask...I love all flowers but I absolutely adore peonies!”

Next up to introduce is one of our wedding sales consultants, Cait!

“Hi! My name is Cait, I am a Wedding and Event Sales Consultant here at Town & Country Gardens. I love getting to be a small part of a client's special day. From meeting with a couple for the first time, to bringing the flowers to them on their day and seeing their face light up or get teary-eyed seeing their flowers. Being able to see their reaction to something you created is one of the best feelings in the world. Every couple is unique and I love getting to work with each and every one of them.
When I am not at the office or out servicing a wedding, I love spending time with my family, friends and my two dogs or spending time outdoors.
If I had to pick a favorite flower, it would be ranunculus and sweet pea.”

Now introducing our next wonderful wedding coordinator, Monika!

“Hello, my name is Monika Bucon and I’ve been with T&CG for almost 2 years now. You usually see me running around crazy while setting up the weddings with gorgeous flowers!
What I like the most about my job is seeing all the designs coming to life as well as the people that I work with. My favorite things to set up are definitely the table centerpieces with different bouquets, flowers, and candles. Seeing them all come together is so beautiful.
Outside my work I enjoy reading books and taking long walks with my dog.
My favorite flower hands down are peonies and water lilies.”

Introducing our next amazing coordinator, Emma!

“Hello! My name is Emma Schuth and I am on the wedding team! I have worked at tcg since May 2022. I am 17 years old and I attend high school at Aurora Central Catholic!
My favorite part of my job is being able to express my creativity, while working in a very fun, positive environment.💕
I love setting up complex and unique arches, they always turn out very beautiful!
Outside of work, I play high school and club volleyball! I also enjoy sewing and hand embroidery, which allows me to express myself creatively.
My favorite flowers are definitely pink roses🌹”

“Hi, my name is Mikayla Torres. I have been at Town and Country for almost two years now, but I have been in the wedding industry for 5 years total. I am a floral coordinator so you will see me around delivering and setting up your weddings and events!

The thing I love most about my job is seeing each individual style and vision come to life at the venue!
Seeing all the beautiful flowers it’s hard to pick a favorite but my top three are peonies, ranunculus, and anemones. When I’m not working I love spending time with my family, trying new foods, and exploring the city.”

It’s Friday!! Finally almost the weekend! Our next designer to introduce is Christine!
“My name is Christine Plier.
I am the manager of Town and Country Gardens at our Bartlett location.
I am also part of the Wedding team as
a floral designer in our Elgin
location. I have been in the flower
industry for 45 years.
I enjoyed gardening at a young age
with my Dad and got my first job
at a Flower shop. I loved working with flowers so much that I pursued an Associates degree
in Ornamental Horticulture at a Jr
College.
I worked at a few flower shops and decided to open my own in 1985, Flowers by
Christine, and was successful for 29 years.
I have designed at flower shows, Garden clubs, I was interviewed on the radio, and
have been written up in the newspapers.
I also enjoy teaching floral design classes.
I sold my shop to Town and Country Gardens in 2014. I love what I do, I sold my business to a great family, and I can continue to
make people happy with flowers.
I enjoy working with all different flowers
at different seasons. My favorite design
is a wedding Bridal bouquet.
I personally enjoy getting together with my family and friends and going to the dog park with my Golden Retriever.
My favorite flower is any color peony.
All you need is one by itself to enjoy its
stunning beauty.
Flowers make people Happy☺️”

Introducing our next amazing designer, Victoria!

“Hi my name is Victoria. I have been with Town and Country now for 13 years. I am the lead wedding designer here at TCG! I enjoy creating every event I design. Each and every wedding is personalized to the couple and I love the uniqueness in every event. I love creating bridal bouquets. I create every event like it’s my own wedding and truly put my heart and soul into every wedding. I delivered weddings for 10 years and loved getting to see how happy the couples are on their wedding day and how their faces lit up when you deliver the flowers that you created. It was truly a incredible feeling knowing you made the bouquet they are crying tears of joy over. It’s hard to pick just one favorite flower! I would say my top 3 are anemones, ranunculus and dusty Miller. Outside of work I enjoy being with my husband and son. We love going to the lake and beach in our free time.”

“Hi my name is Jeanine Zyzda. I’ve always had a love  for flowers. My grandma and my dad were both floral designers. I was so impressed and interested in what they did that I made it my career! I have over 20 years of experience with being mentored by some of the best designers. I’ve been at tcg for 5 years. I’m so happy to be a part of such a great team! I love that I’m able to help create the bride’s vision! One of the best things about designing flowers are the flowers! The colors, the smells, the textures, they’re beautiful! It’s always fun to design a wedding that has my favorite flowers in it. Some of my favorites are calla lilies and roses. Outside of work I love spending time with my daughter and husband. I have the cutest chihuahua and I’m a big cubs fan!”

Happy Wednesday! Our next designer up is Kasia!

“I’m Kasia and I have been a floral designer for the last 16 years. I’m originally from Poland. I have a master’s degree in horticulture from the University of Science in Warsaw.
The best part about my job is I get to do what I’m passionate about.
My favorite thing to design is centerpieces and bouquets.
I enjoy traveling and reading.
My favorite flower is the phalaenopsis orchid.”

We asked our team to answer a few questions about themselves.
Introducing one of our amazing designers, Nancy!

“My name is Nancy Krasinski and this is my 6th year at Town and Country. I serve as an on-call designer during the busy wedding seasons. I am a retired teacher who was a full time designer and manager of a shop before starting my teaching career.

The thing I love most about my job is being part of team who, using the beauty of flowers, work together to make a couple’s wedding day as special as it can be. And how can you not love a job where even the garbage smells good at the end of the day?

My favorite things to design are organic Boho style bouquets. I love letting the flowers “do the work” and simply finding a way to arrange them to let their natural size, shape and curvature look cohesive and natural.
When I’m not arranging flowers I can be found at my sewing machine making quilts, going to theater, reading books, walking in the woods, or watching my 18 month old grandson growing up much too fast.
To choose a favorite flower is quite impossible but a summer bouquet of ranunculus, peonies, delphinium, freesia, garden roses, and dusty miller is hard to beat.”
