Darryll Gene Larkin
I have really been dreading this because I wasn't quite sure how to put this in words. I think I am ready now.
Darryll passed away on 04/27/11. For many of you that knew him, I know that you have a variety of opinions about this man. Some liked him, some hated him but many loved him. I can only speak of the past 12 years. What I have come to learn about this man is this.
One man, one mounted truck, began a business on his own at a very young age for a few years. He was later joined by his father and then later by his wife, at the time, and it grew. It was incorporated in 1985. Some hated working for him, some loved working for him.
No matter the opinions of the past, the Darryll we knew was the hardest working man I have ever met. He loved and provided for his children, including my own daughter, to the best of his ability. He wasn't very good at showing emotion but he went above and beyond in showing all of his children that they were his world in his own way. He loved his company. He was a very fair man. He was honest. Not being able to physically work for almost 4 years depressed him, stress gripped him every day, but he was calm, he was gentle, he was the absolute best father in the world to Koty. Koty was extremely crazy and very protective of her dad. He was my best friend. He saved my life. He taught me. He helped me find myself and he taught me to not give up. That was our Darryll and he will be very missed.
To our current team members, thank you, thank you, thank you. Thank you for taking control. Thank you for taking away a lot of his worries and stresses. Thank you for giving your all, even when you had your own troubles. Thank you for always respecting him. Thank you for giving extra, precious time for Koty to have with him. Thank you for continuing his legacy. Darryll didn't give up easily and we won't either.
Darryll did not want a funeral. He didn't want an obituary. He only wanted life to go on.
