π Exciting News for Elk Grove! π
As a Director on the SouthEast Connector, I am thrilled to announce a major milestone for our community with the approval of a $25 million federal grant for the Capital Southeast Connector project! This transformative initiative, championed by our very own Rep. Ami Bera alongside Rep. Kevin Kiley and out Board of Directors, marks a significant leap forward in our infrastructure development.
The Capital Southeast Connector will upgrade a 3.6-mile stretch of Grant Line Road into a modern four-lane expressway, complete with designated paths for cyclists and pedestrians. This vital link will connect Interstate 5, Highway 99, and Highway 50, offering smoother commutes from Elk Grove and southern Sacramento County to Folsom and El Dorado County.
With projections indicating a potential 40% reduction in vehicle crash rates upon completion, the Connector promises to enhance safety along a historically problematic corridor. Additionally, it's estimated to create over 11,000 jobs by 2030, underscoring its role as an economic engine for our region.
Stay tuned as we continue to build a better tomorrow for Elk Grove and beyond! ππ
