Congratulations to our MPS Faculty, Dr. Eslam Mohamed, Assistant Professor of Medical Immunology at College of Graduate Studies for his new publication as a co-author in JCI insight. The title of the paper is “ BET inhibition reforms the immune microenvironment and alleviates T cell dysfunction in chronic lymphocytic leukemia”. The paper illustrated a therapeutic approach that reverses the T cell exhaustion in leukemia by modeling the T cells’ epigenome. We are proud of Dr Eslam Mohamed’s achievements and wish him much success!

Congratulations to our MPS2 students on defending their Capstone and Thesis projects this week! It was an exciting and eventful session for our students. We are grateful and proud of our MPS faculty who mentored those motivated students and served as their committee members.
Our College of Graduate Studies Dean, Dr. Catherine Yang successfully facilitated a Conversation about the Emerging Trend of AI in Healthcare and Education. CNU faculty were invited yesterday to engage and converse about what innovation may look like in the academic discipline. Further discussions that took place in the conversation are:
What are the main applications of AI in the clinical field?
How does AI innovation impact higher education?
What role does AI play in shaping pedagogical approaches and curricular development?
How can we use AI to augment our scholarship, teaching and research methodologies, and institutional practices while ensuring that we uphold the values of academic integrity?

Yesterday we concluded our MPS505 Graduate Seminar class for the spring semester by having a competition day where all the students were divided into groups of eight teams. Each team had to deliver a 15 minute presentation from a choice of their research paper and were evaluated on their presentation by their peers. It was great opportunity for students to learn, experience and educate themselves on scholarly research and deliver it to their peers. Congratulations to Group 3 ( Gurprit, Kiara and Emily) for scoring the highest in the competition day and being selected as winners for the presentation " Humoral Immune Escape by Current SARS- CoV-2 Variants BA . 2.86 and JN.1". Each member of the winning group received a $50 amazon gift card.

He takes great interest in his research work and was recently selected to give a podium presentation on his research project " Studying core Fucosylation in human macrophages exposed to tumor factors" during the CNU Annual Research Day. Shaumik is currently completely his last semester of MPS and is ready to graduate in May.
