Once a month, our wonderful dining team comes together with residents for our Dining Committee meeting. Led by Executive Chef Michael Atwater, Sous Chef Amy Rodriguez, and Dining Room Supervisor Cynthia Snovel, these meetings are a highlight for everyone involved.

Residents love learning about seasonal menu changes and upcoming events, while the dining team values their input and enjoys trying out new recipes submitted by the residents. It’s truly a team effort! 🍽️👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

This week’s therapeutic art class with Making Things Interesting was a hit! Our residents love creating with Matthew and expressing their creativity. 🎨😊

In our memory care neighborhood, we had an action-packed week with exercise, art classes, Rendever virtual trips, and scenic drives. We always have so much fun together! 🎨🚴‍♀️🖼️🚌

Meet the newest addition to our team, Jason Garnett! Jason is the new Health Services Director at The Commons at Elk Grove. With 5 years of experience as an LVN and a strong background in skilled nursing, Jason brings a wealth of knowledge to our community.

Originally from the Chico area, he recently relocated to Elk Grove. Jason says the best part of his job is getting to know the people he helps. He’s excited to build relationships with all of our residents, families, and team members. Welcome, Jason! 🌟

Meet Grace Gagui, our Lead PM Med Tech in the Connections for Living Neighborhood. Grace has been with our community since 2012, making a significant impact on residents, families, and team members alike. Known as a true team player, everyone knows they can count on Grace to show up and give her all in providing wonderful care.

When asked about her favorite part of the job, Grace said, "I like getting to know the residents and their families. I enjoy working with them. You become very attached to all of them." Grace is an essential member of our team, and we deeply appreciate her dedication and hard work. Thank you, Grace! ❤️

We had an absolute BLAST on the 4th of July! Our BBQ Bash was a hit, with lots of families and friends joining us for food and fun.

We followed it up with a rockin' good time at our Independence Day Happy Hour. Both residents and team members got into the spirit, dressed up, and had a fantastic time. Happy 4th of July! 🎉🍔🎶

Something special about our community is the wonderful Ms. Tina T! Tina, our MBK Fit Director, leads our exercise program here at The Commons.

She hosts two fitness classes daily and a twice-weekly balance class that our residents just love. Tina makes getting us moving and grooving so much fun! 🏋️‍♀️💃
