ERMU would like to remind residents that fire hydrant accessibility is crucial year-round! Ensure a minimum clearance of 3 feet around hydrants and remove obstacles so the hydrant is visible from 200 feet away. Let’s keep our community safe!

Good luck to ERMU staffers Katy and Angela as they compete in the Hydrant Hysteria event at the American Water Works Association ACE24 Conference June 10-13 in Anaheim, CA! Hydrant Hysteria is a fast-paced competition where two-member teams assemble a specified hydrant as quickly as they can. Last year’s first-place times for both the men’s and women’s divisions were under two minutes!
ERMU is proud to announce Hayden Robinson as the recipient of the 2024 Elk River Municipal Utilities Scholarship. Hayden, a senior at Elk River High School, wrote a terrific essay illustrating the important role municipal utilities have played in his life and community.

REMINDER: The bulk of ERMU's water department hydrant flushing will take place May 13-22. A couple things to keep in mind during this necessary maintenance:
• Refrain from washing clothes or using water while ERMU staff is flushing in your neighborhood; you could draw discolored water into your home.
• If you have discolored water, run COLD water for 15-20 minutes. If the discoloration persists, contact our customer service department at 763.441.2020.
