SHS @ 2:45-5:15 at High School gym
MS @ 4:00 - 5:30 at 7/8 gym

Tryouts for Girls Basketball are Monday Nov. 13th. High School starts at 2:45 at the High School gym. Middle school tryouts are 4:00 at 7th/8th gym. Please make sure you are registered and have a current physical on file with Spectrum. Remember, there is no school Monday so make sure you have a ride if you are trying out.

Over 30 girls were at Captains practice on Tuesday! How many will be there for the final warm up before Tryouts on Monday? Last Captains practice is Thursday from 2:45-4:30 at 7/8 gym. Hope to see you there!! Christmas is 5 days away.....

Captains Practice on Monday Oct. 30th has been moved up in time to 8:30am-10:30am at 7/8 gym due to the fact there is no school.

For anyone interested in AAU basketball for next Spring / Summer. Here are details for the AAU Mega Tryout on Nov. 5th, time TBD.

This event is sponsored by MN AAU with the goal of providing athletes in Minnesota an opportunity to play more basketball and providing our member clubs with the opportunity to add players to their teams!
The Mega Tryout registration fee is non-refundable. If unable to attend we will still pass your name along to registered coaches and also
give you a free credit toward future Mega Tryouts.

Please review the points below to help familiarize yourself with AAU and how this tryout will work:
AAU:
• AAU does NOT put together teams. AAU facilitates amateur athletics by sanctioning events and providing insurance coverage for players, coaches, and clubs through membership.
• AAU Basketball in Minnesota is made up by over 50 different club/organizations. Many of those organizations will be represented today with the goal of adding players to their teams.
• The AAU Season Length will vary by CLUB, but typically starts in late March or early April.
Teams play weekend tournaments. Younger teams typically play through June, while older ages will go into July.
• Fees to play VARY. They will vary due to quantity of practices, cost of practice locations, number of tournaments, amount of travel, whether coaches are paid or volunteer, etc.
MN AAU does not have this information and you will need to procure that information from clubs directly if they offer you a spot.
Mega Tryout:
• Attending the tryout does not guarantee you a spot on a team. On the flip side, you may have multiple clubs offer you a spot. This decision is yours to make, and this tryout does not place you
on a team/club.
• The evening of the tryout, our staff will pass player contact information out to all the clubs that were in attendance so that they can reach out to prospective players about roster offers.
• Our hope is that most players attending the tryout will receive a roster spot offer from a club, but that is at the sole discretion of the coaches and directors of each individual club.
• Collecting information on fees, schedules, locations should be gathered from the individual clubs as you make your decisions.

Captains Practice tonight is from 5:00-7:00pm at the 7th/8th gym.

I know this will be shocking... but practice tonight is moved to the High School gym. We will have 1/2 the gym (sharing with Middle school volleyball) with the curtain down. We will have the full gym at 8:00pm. Sorry for the confusion.

Time to unwrap the new toy! Out of Season practices (Captains Practices) start tonight at SHS from 630-830pm. These practices are open to any girl interested in basketball. If you are in a fall sport, you can only shoot. If you are not in a fall sport, you can participate fully. See Coach Hund for questions. Please spread the word!

Everyone is welcome to attend the Out of Season practices, they are 100% voluntary. If you are currently in a Fall Sport, you can only shoot. No running, jumping, drills, or scrimmaging. If you are not in a fall sport, or once your fall sport ends, you can participate fully.

Here is the Out of Season (Captains practice) schedule for GBB. There may be changes if conflicts come up, but hopefully this should be set!

Spectrum Open House is this Thursday Aug 24th! GBB will have information located under the tent in the PE field area. Details regarding Out of season (Captains) practices, the upcoming season, and our new Shooting machine (arriving in about 2 weeks) will be available. Coach Hund will also be there to answer any questions.

Anyone participating in the FT-a-thon, Coach Hund will be at the Fall Sports meeting tonight at SHS. If you have your Free throw money collected, please bring it and turn it in tonight. If you need to set up another time to turn it in, please contact Coach Hund.

As GBB summer workouts, practices, and scrimmages come to an end, I just wanted to give a HUGE shoutout to all the girls that showed up and worked hard the past two months. The girls definitely improved their basketball skills, shooting, and court IQ.

Wow! Just a quick shout out to the Varsity and JV girls who have participated in some of our conference scrimmages. You guys have came a long way in just three weeks! We still have things to learn and to work on, but I couldn’t be prouder as a coach of the effort, the determination, and the heart of this bunch of girls. Enjoy your time off and have a Hapapy 4th of July! See you on July 10th!!

We regularly have 30+ girls working hard to improve their bball skills. They give great effort, have great attitudes, and believe it or not, sometimes even smile at 8:00 or 8:30 in the morning . Great job ladies!

Just a reminder, there is no GBB practice today as Spectrum High School is closed for June 19th. See everyone tomorrow.

The first GBB camp wrapped up today. We had 30+ girls shooting, dribbling, and working to improve their bball skills. I loved their attitude, enthusiasm, and overall energy. GREAT JOB ladies!!
