2024 is the year where we change how you define your health.

We are no longer trying to lose weight because we want to look good in our vacation photos. Gone is the super long workouts and diets you have seen those instagram influencers advertise.

Instead lets make 2024 the year you fall in love with your health. The year you fall in love with healthy nutritious food that fuels your body. The year you become obsessed with being stronger and healthier so you can have a long and fulfilling life. This is the year you discover how beautifully and wonderfully made your body is and the importance for you to take care of it.

2024 is your year!

Lucy came to me a couple of months ago after suffering from a pretty bad ankle sprain. When we first started she could barely squat down to a 24 inch box. But today she killed it. Her form has improved immensely in every area and she continues to work hard every single session.

This girl has aspirations to play college ball and she works so hard in the gym to make those goals a reality!! So proud of how far she has come already!

Happy Monday everyone, today is the final week of my 25 days of FITMAS Challenge.

I am going to be honest the last week I have not had much motivation to do these tasks on the list. I pushed them aside and regretted not making it a priority. But today is a perfect day to get back on task.

Let’s kick this weeks butt and finish out this challenge strong!

How many of you have been unhappy with your body shape or type sometime in your life. Well I am here to tell you that there are benefits and amazing unique things about every body type.

Ectomorph is categorized as tall and leaner individuals, they have a harder time building muscle but lose fat more easily.
Mesomorph is a body type that is lean and muscular. These individuals have an easy time building muscle and do not have a challenge losing body fat.
Endomorph are people with builder and larger builds who have no problem gaining muscle but have a harder time losing fat.

Each and everyone of these body types can be improved and can be changed. So next time you are comparing yourself to those around you just remember you are all uniquely created for your own specific purpose, and one body type is not superior to another.

Debunking fitness myths!! A couple months ago I asked you guys to share with me what is a common fitness myth you have believed. One I hear all the time is, “strength training causes women to get bulky”.

Unfortunately women cannot gain muscle as quickly and abundantly as men due to a difference in hormones. Women have higher levels of estrogen and lower levels of testosterone, which can help in recovery and in retention of muscle tissue. Because of the estogren in a women’s body the amount of muscle they are able to gain in limited.

Strength training is not just for men but for everyone of all ages, shapes, and sizes. There are numerous benefits including; lowering the rick of a number of diseases, promotes muscle growth and retention, improves cognitive function, memory, and concentration. Strength training also prevents age-related illness and lowers the risk and the severity of depression and anxiety.

Like mother like daughters. These amazing girls had the day off of school and I had to privilege to train all 3 of them!!

This mom is setting an amazing example for her daughters, to work hard, love their bodies, and take care of themselves. Way to go ladies!!

Wedding Weekend!! Rachel Lind has been seeing me for a handful of months now. When she first came to see me she shared that her daughter was getting married in a couple of months. Well it is finally here and Rachel is so happy with where she is at. The wedding wasn't a date that she had to be a perfect weight or look a certain way. But she expressed to me that being able to dance and enjoy the moment was all she cared about, she feels confident in her stability and strength to not have to worry about hurting herself, and can truly enjoy the moment.

Do not wait till the big day is here, be ready for when life's big moments come your way!

Fear-based language isn’t helping anyone!

If we really zone out and take a 30,000 ft view…we see one primary problem:

Not enough people are exercising!

Sure, helping the people who already exercise improve performance, strength, and hypertrophy is always fun and rewarding, but…

How to we encourage the other 77% to start?

One thing is for sure - scaring them with fear-based language isn’t helping the problem.

Let's ditch the fear tactics and focus on uplifting, positive ways to get people moving!

Injuries. Something that athletes never want to see in their career, but unfortunately they happen. Mental blocks, physical insecurities, and movement hesitations are all pieces of the puzzle that come into play after coming back from an injury.

Anna came to see me after dealing with an ankle sprain. She was hesitant to weight bear independently on the injured side and would not jump or hop due to instability.
She is a freshman going into her first year of high school basketball and has big goals. So we started to breakdown how she was going to return to this sport she loves. We set goals in place, have dates that she wants to reach them by, and has started to gain back some of her confidence.

This week we introduced some game like movements into our programming. It not only challenges her physically but also helps her push past a mental block.

Goal setting is not only important to keep you motivated but it helps your day to day not grow mundane.

Getting older holds some people back, makes them bored with their lives, and stops them from setting and achieving goals.

Bill of Hannay Electric LLC has been working with me for over a year, always coming at me with new goals he wants to accomplish. This summer we have been preparing for the Rugged Maniac. This is his 3rd year conquering this course, and his new goal this year was to scale the monkey bars.

We have been working at grip strength and activating the lats. He killed the course and had fun doing it.
