When it comes to toning or root melting, I avoid it as much as possible. If I can get the perfect tone and blend, I’m doing my job right. If I have to overcompensate to make a look look “lived in”, I’d feel like maybe I can’t call myself a lived-in hair specialist….
TONING AND ROOT MELTING ISNT WRONG! Every stylist is different BUT

as a stylist, it absolutely blows my mind is when you’re charging your clients a $30-$80 root melt/root shade and an toner. These services should be included in you balayage appointments.

Y’all don’t see much of them but my men’s clients have been so loyal for years and that means so much to me. I love doing short haircuts and sometimes these guys challenge me which keeps me growing.
