Lots of questions about when we will be closing for the season.

My answer has been that, we will stay open as long as you all keep us busy. We will adjust hours based on volume and weather in September. Keep us busy and we won’t need to close for the winter.

I will be leaving this Catfish Tournament open for registrations until Thursday the 29th. If we do not have at least 5 - 10 people participating, I will cancel it and refund the registration fees. At the moment we have 2 paid registrations and a whole lot of talk interest.

We have been inundated with requests for another catfish tournament.

We have decided to offer a bragging rights fundraiser tournament for labor day weekend. We will open special hours on Monday - Labor day for the tournament.

$20 fee. Pay out will be 1st - 40% Plus bragging rights - Picture on the wall for a year, 2nd - 20%, 3rd - 10% - Take A Child Fishing Derby - 30%

This tournament will be combined weight of 4 fish to chose winner.

Just a reminder that the hours will be slightly different August 20, 21 and 22.

We will be open today regular hours for all of your fishing equipment and live bait. Please, however stay off the river.

The Chemung River will crest at 12.90' tomorrow morning (08/10) at approximately 8:00 a.m. We can anticipate additional minor flooding in low lying areas to include the Lowman Crossover and areas along state route 352 in the Town of Big Flats. Please plan accordingly for your Saturday morning travels.
Please remember "Turn around don't Drown", never drive thru moving water above 6 inches.

We are in to the last 30 minutes of the catfish tournament. If you need a fish weighed let us know asap.

We have made it easier to register as a vendor by filling out the application form online. You can submit your application online and pay the vendor fee through paypal or with any credit card. Of course you can still come to the shop to pay in person.

The last of our Water Gremlin is hitting the wall. Stock up while you still can. As I mentioned in a previous post, Water Gremlin is no longer in existence as a fishing tackle company. When our inventory is depleted we will no longer be able to order this brand again. We have started the transition to Eagle Claw on the split shot already. We have 2 remaining sizes of Water Gremlin split shot in stock.

We will be hosting a small raffle auction during our OctoberFest on 10/14 with all proceeds going toward Take A Child Fishing Derby. We would love to have around 10 gift baskets to include. If friends and businesses could help with donations we would be so grateful. It’s a great opportunity to support the derby as we head into the months where we start to purchase prizes for the kids bags.

Any help would be appreciated. Gift baskets, gift cards or items to put in gift baskets can be dropped off to the shop anytime during normal business hours.
