Chris Longwell, Associate Professor of Art at Elmira College, received a grant from The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes to provide summer art classes to Chemung County high school students. The grant covers the associated costs so that students can attend the workshop for free.

Three Elmira College Sustainability Leaders worked throughout the 2023-2024 academic year on projects they hope will reduce waste, increase recycling, and foster biodiversity on campus. The three Sustainability Scholarship recipients, now in their second year as Sustainability Leaders, also came together and made progress on renovating the Sustainability House, a future meeting hub for students interested in sustainability.

Notre Dame High School Elmira NY and Elmira College signed an agreement for dual enrollment that gives Notre Dame students opportunities to take college courses at EC. Beginning this fall, rising Notre Dame juniors and seniors with a 3.0 grade point average or higher can enroll in EC courses at a discounted tuition rate and earn college credits.
