Stop doing random workouts each time you're at the gym and expecting to see results. 🤦🏾‍♂️

Every day when my clients come to OMP, I have their workout for the day written up on the board and we follow it step by step.

Why? Because...

❌ Random workouts = random results

Instead, we tailor each workout plan to the individual, their goals, and their skill level.

A lot of the time this might look like doing the same exercises week over week and incorporating only a few new ones each time. This is so we focus on perfecting FORM and progressive overload to get the results they want to see.

Here are a few things I recommend instead of doing random workouts you see online:

✅ Start with the basics. Work on the fundamental exercises like your squats, lunges, bench press, bicep curls.

✅ Get an experienced coach who will create an individualized workout program for you so that you're improving your skills, learning how to properly build muscle or lose weight, and making big progress.

Let's talk about progressive overload ⤵️

When it comes to strength training, progressive overload is the concept of increasing your weight gradually over time in order to strengthen your muscles.

If you used the same weight and did the same workout every week, you're not going to see any progress because your body will start to adapt.

Progressive overload is NOT just for people who want to bulk. It is a technique that should be used no matter what your fitness goals are because gaining muscle mass will also help you shed fat which helps you get that "toned" look many people aim for.

Here are a few ways to achieve progressive overload:

👉🏾 Increase your weight

👉🏾 Increase the number of reps
👉🏾 Decrease your rest period
👉🏾 Change the intensity (scroll back to find previous posts about tempo)
