That's a wrap!! We finished delivering school supplies today!

We want to thank all of our wonderful volunteers for coming out and getting the job done. They were so amazing and we appreciate all their hard work.

For those of you that inquired about evening volunteer hours, the day shift rocked it so hard we didn't really need the evening shift. Hope to see you next year.

We had a productive morning with pencil bags for Emporia Middle School being filled and other supplies being gathered for Emporia High School. We welcome volunteers to join us from 10 to noon the rest of this week

Hey everybody! We are going to start working this week getting the supplies ready to go. We are still waiting on some supplies to come in, but there are things we can do in the mean time. We will be working this coming week, Monday-Friday, from 10am to noonish.

Please come as you can. All help is appreciated.

The following week, Aug. 5th - 9th, we will be getting the last supplies sorted and then delivered. That week there is a possibility of some evening work times. We will keep you informed of any additional work times.

Donor forms for Match Day!!

The FUMC School Supply Project is excited to be one of thirty-five organizations selected to participate in the Emporia Area Match Day on Monday, November 13th. Match Day is the opportunity for your donation to FUMC School Supply Project to be increased with funds from generous matching donors. This year, our organization will be vying for our share of $175,000 of matching funds by thirteen individuals, trusts, and foundations. The Emporia Community Foundation (ECF) coordinates the event and processes all the donations and matching funds, while not keeping any of the donations. Match Day is the ECF’s gift to the community!

Here’s how it works:

On Match Day -
Date: Monday, November 13, 2023
Online: Online from 12am to 11:59pm at www.emporiamatchday.com
In person: Donations may be dropped off at the ECF Office, 527 Commercial St. Suite B, from 9am to 6pm.

The matching funds are pro-rated by taking the total donated for individual participating groups and dividing the total amount raised by all the participating non-profits. That percentage determines the amount of match money each non-profit receives. One hundred percent of the donations PLUS the match amount is paid to participating organizations.
Your donation is matched up to $1,000.00. (For example, if you give $1,500, the entire amount is given to our organization; however, only $1,000 will be matched.) Cash or checks are accepted. Checks are to be made payable to the Emporia Community Foundation. You can donate to FUMC School Supply Project online at www.emporiamatchday.com. It all counts towards our total!

Assets such as stocks, RMDs, QCDs, cattle and grain may be donated from October 2nd until November 3rd. Call the ECF at (620) 342-9304 for more information and donation forms.
Your donation can be divided among multiple participating organizations. Go to emporiamatchday.com for a complete list of Match Day organizations.
A receipt for your entire donation will be sent to you from the ECF. Please consult your tax advisor for deductible qualifications.
Match Day is an excellent opportunity to support our organization’s volunteers with our projects, programs, and mission for our community. Your gift is appreciated!

We are done sorting and collating! Tomorrow is delivery day. Come on down at ten and we will get loaded up and take the supplies to the schools.

SCHOOL SUPPLY WORKDAYS!

The work schedule for assembling school supplies is:

Monday August 7th thru Friday August 11th

2 sessions each day - 10am to 12pm and 6pm to 8pm. Come as you are able during either session.

There are projects for all ages and capabilities. Come join the fun!

Please enter through the west doors. We will be in the basement of the church (823 Merchant) at the far end of the south hallway. Signs will be posted to point the way.

H & R Block donated these customized pencil pouches to hand out to the older students. We appreciate their contribution to our project!

First United Methodist Church ( FUMC) has made it our mission to provide school supplies to all Emporia schools. This includes USD 253, Sacred Heart and Emporia Christian School. Students all get the same supplies so it equals the playing field for students. They just come to school and have all the supplies they need day one.
