Congratulations to Nichole on her new career as a Medical Assistant at Warren General Hospital!

Medical assistant students at Great Lakes Institute are seeking volunteers to have their blood drawn on September 12th, 10:30am to 1:00pm. This allows our students to gain hands-on experience and improve their proficiency in blood draws for their future careers. Snacks will be provided. All volunteers must sign a volunteer consent form.

During Tech Hour we focus on helping our students gain essential technology skills. For our August session, we will take a look at Canva. Whether you want to make a resume, flyer, or presentation, Canva can help! Empower yourself with the skills to create compelling visuals that leave a lasting impact.

This past Wednesday we had our annual Student Summer Picnic! We celebrated the summer with food, games, tie-dye, karaoke and more. Thank you to Kona Ice of Erie for providing our students with a sweet treat to fight the heat!

Congratulations to our co****le tournament champions, DMS students Maddie and Justice (Dynamic Duo).

Students created fabulous art with chalk. Everyone did a great job, but the team that came out on top was a group of four students from Toni&Guy Hairdressing Academy - Erie Congratulations – Dana, Paige, Lainie and Kim!

Thank you to all the staff and faculty who made this event a huge success! Especially the staff who took a pie to the face to raise money for the Erie Humane Society.

Today is Guinea Pig Appreciation Day! Shout out to Gidget and Esme two guinea pigs who help our veterinary assistant students learn about animal care. Thanks for helping our students take steps towards their career goals!

Our Veterinary Assistant program recently took a trip to the Erie Zoo to expand their knowledge of animal care. They learned about career possibilities and husbandry. Husbandry is the care and maintenance needed for an animal kept in captivity.
