FACE TO FACE REQUIREMENTS for Scooters: Please remember for your face-to-face requirement from MEDICARE LCD Guidelines the following is requested to be documented in your office visit. If the following is not you MAY NOT qualify for a scooter. MOST insurance companies WILL NOT cover these to be used for OUTDOOR USE.

This scooter will allow this patient to participate in one or more
MRADL's within his/her home. This patient is unable to use a
cane, walker or manual wheelchair of any type. He / She is able to
maneuver this scooter safely within the home independently, able
to operate the tiller and transfer/sit unsupported.
If this patient has MEDICARE- They require explanations of why
the cane, walker or any other manual wheelchair are not adequate.

Responsible for initial setup orders, review demographics, verifying insurance eligibility, submitting in for authorizations, working with patients and physician offices. Comprehends insurance coverage.

DME Patient Service Technician is responsible for repairs/service, assembly, and maintenance of wheelchairs and basic DME equipment. REQUIREMENTS: Clean driving record, MUST be mechanically inclined, customer service skills, detail-oriented and able to multitask. Knowledge of DME repairs a PLUS but not necessary.
