You may have noticed we’ve been taking a bit of a break from candles and social media recently. First of all, it has been way too effing hot for candles. 🥵 Making and selling has been a bit harder in these spicy months. 🥲

Second of all our candle maker, , is on a six week trek in Europe for her grad program. Let’s hope that lady has a good time living that European life. 🇫🇷🇨🇭🇮🇹🇳🇴

Inspired by our fondness of crafting, candles, and growing jungle of houseplants, toocasual was born in Eugene, Oregon from a desire to make the things we love in life more practical and sustainable.

Our innovative candle planter is one example of how we're striving to practice the other, less memorable R's of recycling- reduce and reuse. These all-natural soy wax candles will fill your home with pleasant scents and a sweet, sweet aesthetic. After they're burned through, pop out the cork in the bottom, and bless your favorite houseplant with some new digs, complete with a drainage hole and catch tray.

And we don't stop with our repurposing-ready candles; all our products are crafted using as many reclaimed and locally-sourced materials as we can manage. Our soy wax is purchased from a local distributor and picked up in person to reduce hefty shipping emissions. The cork, dyes, and cement used to create all our trays and containers have been thrifted from material exchange centers in town. And if you see an Amazon bubble mailer or stray Dr. Bronner's label in your shipping box, that's because our packaging materials are all donated and given a second life from partnered local grocery stores as well as our kind Eugene neighbors
