As i walk toward the celebration of my 60th year on this earth walk, I can remember the bad times, but i choose to honor that which I have gathered in my life.
I have Loved so very deeply
2 husbands, several boyfriends,
I have been blessed with Kids that although my not be of my blood, they are of my heart
I have been gifted with chosen family , blood family and people that have come in to my life even if briefly as family added something into it.
Friendships, acquaintances , deep family bonds
I could look at many of these things and see where i failed, where things did not work out.
I want to see and feel that depth of love that still brings tears to my eyes.

We are taught to work towards a specific goal or set of goals
if we do not work towards it or do not reach that goal , we are deemed failures
Society wants us to live in turmoil , in fear of others
We say we want equality, but then get mad when someone else wants to have equality
We are taught to be outraged by anything that seems different
maybe we can allow people to walk their life
maybe differing ways of doing things are ok.
do you look for a scapegoat? do you need to blame someone when things do not go the way you think it should
respect, knowledge , understanding. stepping back from negative perceptions. If you hate because you do not understand, take time to try and understand

But we were also taught that we can overcome

When you are feeling a little sorry for yourself. But reach into the cupboard and remember you left this on your last visit. Coffee at 6 pm ? Yes thank you

It has been said so many times before

but here it is again, please live every moment of life, be thin, be chubby, work, have a day off. laugh, take the walk, sit on your couch and do nothing
why are we so focused on the Next?
one moment will be gone soon, live that moment.
who cares if things are not perfect.
enjoy your partner, friends, family members as the individuals they are, if you do not feel joy around them at anytime, let them go so you both can find people that bring that to you

I AM
i am an energy body walking within a robe of flesh
i am a complex being, with opinions, emotions, memories and history
i have and do feel joy, anger, sadness, regret
every step i have left is mine to choose how i walk
will i walk in the reality of this existence, will i admire the joys of differences, or will i force my opinions and biases on others
the colors of the world are so vast and amazing, one day whether in this incarnation or maybe another we will enjoy those differences
maybe not
I hope that my bones will nourish the world i am in.
I will be forgotten, I will be but a mere picture on the wall or a name on a dna report or i may be forgotten like so many before me.
that is all ok, it does not stop my from smiling, does not stop me from seeing the sun glisten through the leaves

April, child abuse and sexual assault awareness month.
As someone that dealt with both.
15 years of abuse, including sexual, physical and verbal/mental by my 3 different perps.
Then being sexually assaulted by friends of my main perp.
I know that awareness, education, understanding and Compassion is so very important. Victim blaming/shaming helps no one. Please find help, talk to someone, get out if possible.

I posted this back in 2020 when i made the decision to move back to Utah and help my friend and his dad. I post it now that i have moved home to Oregon , just over 4 months ago.
I love life and feel very relaxed and way more peaceful,
It was not Horrible in Utah by any means, but I needed to step back into my own power, and in my own life.

Have you made yourself the victim in your own story?
Do you tell people the content of events, but then flavor it so you have sympathy ?
I have no judgement in this, just an observation.
there are s**tty people in this world, there are people that sometimes do s**tty things ,
there are also just times that things work out the way they do. and it sucks s**t
I no longer live life to hopefully make it to the next day , I strive to live life so tomorrow i can speak about how amazing life can be, and add even more living to this life.
Whether you are an adventurer, or someone that loves their adventures to be from a book, movie or mundane tasks. try to make those things a part of your meditation, release pent up energy into your work, release it to the earth , put love into cooking, make your bed and focus on peace and rest,

As a now retired Hairstylist , after being in the industry close to 40 years.
There are a few things i think about.
I think how much people complain about our pricing or pricing of other salons.
I think about the work put in to your hair to try and give you what you want, only to find out that you rarely take care of it.
I think about everyone wanting deals and cheaper costs, then speak about the car they bought or the trip they are taking, when many stylist are struggling to make ends meet
I think about last minute cancelations , no shows, arriving late to appointments. and how that is like asking you to go to work and then not get paid for your time
I LOVED my career choice, LOVED doing hair and creating
I chose to be a stylist, but now i can openly speak about some of the stuff that was dealt with.
Yep there were many times that i gave the price without standing my ground, many times i chose to give a discount to try and help out,
I know some places do charge a very hefty price and some that do not.
I met so many amazing people, had great connections, lot's of laughter , tears etc
I guess what my post is speaking about , Is the idea that everyone deserves to make a living , do not devalue your stylist or treat them and your appointment less than.
We try to work with people , make them feel and look good.
while also paying for product, lease, taxes, continued education, supplies and then paying ourselves.
for many stylist that own their own salon or are independent stylist, we make about 50 percent of what we charge after covering costs, but that does not mean that is our hourly, we also have to cover ourselves during slow times.
what a ramble i just went on, my point to this is treat your stylist nicely. we all just want to be able to live and afford a life

different languages, cultures , why do we hate, where did this horrible way of being become ok? can we not set aside things.
can we not just love each other or at least tolerate .
set the things that make you hate other people aside, no religion, no money, nothing that makes you think you are better.
would it not be such an amazing world
