Bronak House Concerts and Events

After a long pandemic break, we are ready to host house concerts again! Our favorite types of house concerts are classical, Americana, roots, folk, bluegrass, old time or anything acoustic. Feel free to get in touch if you think it would be a good fit.

Just to let folks know that we have changed venues! In other words, we are selling our Cloverdale house and have bought another house in Eugene close to the University of Oregon. We will be hosting more house concerts there. If you'd like to be included in our next event - a house concert for a folksinger, songwriter and banjo player called the Littlest Birds - please let us know so we can include you on the invitation list.

Reserve your seat now! Back by popular demand, our Moroccan-inspired feast and private house concert returns for a second year. Last year’s sold-out event received high raves, so we’ve moved to a new, more spacious riverfront location this year. The culinary talents of a former resident of Morocco will delight your taste buds in this multi-course, vegetarian feast. We're hosting a house concert with Oregon Mozart Players conductor and pianist Kelly Kuo and Canadian violinist Yi-Jia Susanne Hou on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 3:00 pm. There will be drinks and light refreshments following the concert. If you're interested, we have a limited number of seats left. All proceeds benefit non-profit Oregon Mozart Players. We are very excited to welcome Johnny Gandelsman to Eugene for a house concert. You may have caught him last year at Beall Hall as part of the string quartet Brooklyn Rider, or heard him as part of Yo-Yo Ma's Silk Road Ensemble. We hope that you'll join us to hear him play all six Bach sonatas and partitas on violin in a beautiful and intimate setting.

More about Johnny: Violinist Johnny Gandelsman’s singular musical voice comes from the spirit of collaboration. As a member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble and the string quartet Brooklyn Rider, he has distilled the creative sensibilities of a wide range of master musicians from around the world. In Boston last January, Gandelsman returned to the classical repertoire with a pop-up, unadvertised recital at MIT, performing Bach’s Complete Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin to a small but packed house. Lloyd Schwartz, describing the event on NPR’s Fresh Air, said, “I’ve heard some famous violinists attempt this epic feat, but none of them gripped me and delighted me as thoroughly as Gandelsman.” Gandelsman now brings his powerful interpretation of these landmark works to Oregon.
