The University Choir, Instrumental Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, and Bushnell Chorale will perform a diverse collection of music from around the world including sacred gospel, American folk, African, Hispanic, and European languages and sounds!

Happy (almost) new year, everyone! 2022 is coming to a close; make a gift to the Beacon Fund for Student Scholarships before December 31st. Gifts to the university are tax-deductible, and make a difference in the lives of our students!

Today we celebrate our winter commencement and welcome 92 graduates to our Bushnell alumni family. 50 of them are graduating with baccalaureate degrees and 42 are graduating with a masters degree. Dr. Reed Mueller, Vice President for Academic Affairs will be giving the commencement address. The first cohort of ten Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) students will receive their diplomas after having spent a full year in intensive course work and skills training. These students have benefitted from the Nursing Skills Practice Lab located in Womack Hall.

A week ago the Bushnell community gathered to attend the annual Winter Concert in support of Bushnell's School of Music & Performing Arts. It was an evening of joy, beautiful music, and remembrance of the hope we have in Christ.

On September 20, Bushnell University's most important annual tradition returned with the 2022 Embrace The Community Day.

On this day, all Bushnell afternoon classes are canceled, giving every student, faculty, and staff member the opportunity to participate. Over 300 students, faculty, and staff participated and over 25 different organizations were served. Every Beacon athletic team participated in the event at one of the various non-profit organizations, putting in a total of over 7,500 hours of community service.

Calling all Beacon alumnus! Come cheer on the cross country alum as they complete against the current Bushnell cross country athletes in the annual Alumni Challenge race at Dorris Ranch, on August 20, beginning at 9am. Following the alumni races will be the free Kids Dash at 10:30am, for those of you with kiddos. At 10:45am, we host our first-ever Carry the Torch Community 5K Run and Walk. All are welcome! Registration fees go directly to the Beacon Fund, which provide scholarships to Bushnell students. Help us spread the word by sharing this post on your social media page and by inviting your friends and family to participate with you!

During the summer we love to spend time with our Alumni. Last month had the opportunity to host a dinner at the Northwest Christian Convention (formerly Oregon Christian Convention). Connecting with old friends, hearing stories from current students, and learning about the new developments at the university.

Let the Venture begin! Inside the Spring 2022 issue of The Beacon Magazine you will find exciting stories about fellow alumni and updates about the Venture Forward capital campaign. Learn more about the 3 programs launched as part of the campaign and about the 3 campus expansions.

The Bushnell University School of Music and Performing Arts will present its Spring Concert on April 23, 7:00pm at First Baptist Church-Eugene (3550 Fox Meadow Road).

Doors will open at 6:30 and the concert is family-friendly and free.

Featuring the Instrumental Ensemble, Chamber Ensemble, University Choir, and Bushnell Chorale, this performance will offer a broad sampling of musical styles spanning many musical eras. It promises to be both inspirational and entertaining! Nathan Poehlke and Dr. Kelly Ballard will be directing.
