We help writers of all genres and experience levels to produce and promote professionally published work. We do this by providing read-and-critique sessions, educational activities, ongoing author support, networking opportunities and a welcoming, inclusive community.

The folks in western North Carolina have been devastated by Hurricane Helene, so we are collecting K-12 books to help rebuild school libraries in the affected areas.
is spearheading the effort and will ship the books directly to an educator in North Carolina for distribution in the Asheville area. If you would like to donate new or gently used books please bring them to the workshop meeting next week, October 23rd.

We are pleased to announce our next Writers Bloc event for Saturday, September 25th, at 11 am at the Grapevine Public Library! This event is free and open to writers of all experience levels. This one-hour craft class will be followed by an optional social-hour at Le Madeleine.
Our speaker is the RITA (Romance Writers of America) and Spirit of Texas award winning author, Rosemary Clement.
More about our speaker! Rosemary loves dogs, journals, fountain pens, cool weather, and mystery novels with romantic adventure, witty banter, and supernatural twists. She’s written a few of those, including The Splendor Falls, Texas Gothic, and Spirit and Dust. Her books have won the Romance Writers of America’s RITA® award and the Spirit of Texas Award. They have also been included on the ALA list of Best Books for Young Adults, Quick Picks for Reluctant Readers, and TLA’s TAYSHAS List.

For over 40 years, we’ve met every Wednesday (rain, shine, or pandemic) for our Read and Critique sessions, and we always welcome visitors!
You’ll find us every Wednesday at the Grapevine Convention Center (1209 S. Main Street, Grapevine, TX 76051). Meetings start at 7 pm.
No need to RSVP. Just show up!

Our guest speaker, Carrie Vaughn, is the author of the Philip K. Dick Award-winning novel Bannerless, the New York Times Bestselling Kitty Norville urban fantasy series, over twenty novels, and upwards of 100 short stories, two of which have been finalists for the Hugo Award.
This event is free and open to the public.
