A 9-year-old boy reported missing this morning has been found safe at a friend’s house. We have removed his name and photo for the family’s privacy.

We want to thank our amazing community for the support and help in locating this little boy. We also thank the multiple partnering agencies who responded so quickly to assist in this search effort.

This morning police responded to reports the boy did not show up for school. Relatives said he was going to walk to school after missing his bus.

Officers searched the neighborhood and nearby parks and roads for hours looking for the child, even launching drones to aid in their search. By lunchtime an Athena Alert was issued for the boy.

Less than six hours after being reported missing, the child was found sleeping on a friend’s couch, not far from home. He was not harmed. Police and Victim Services are working closely with the family to ensure their needs are being met.

We are thrilled to announce that the second and final phase of the Outdoor Learning Center has been completed this summer!!

This space has been the vision and dream of Mrs. Hemme and the HES PTA since the Spring of 2021! Under the direction and planning of the HES PTA, and the overwhelming generosity of our HES Community, this beautiful space is now ready for current and future generations of Eagles to enjoy! The HES PTA would like to thank all of the parents and community members that contributed to this project through both your collaborative efforts and generous donations. We would also like to thank our incredible HES Administration, Mrs. Hemme & Mrs. Kue, our GCISD Operations and Facilities staff, the GCISD School Board for their approval of the project, as well as Pacheco Koch Engineering & Designs, and Mart Construction for their work on the project.

🐾 Panther Pride Night (PPN) is Saturday, August 10th, and this year, it’s happening at MP Stadium (3051 Ira E. Woods Blvd, Grapevine)!

🐾 The fun kicks off at 5:30 PM with our community tailgate featuring food trucks, booths, and exciting experiences. If you have a Future Panther, be sure to visit the free Future Panther Kid Zone, proudly sponsored by MaxHealth and Painted Ground Pros!

🐾 At 7:00 PM, the stadium gates will open for our community pep rally that begins at 7:15 PM. Meet our talented Panthers from the fine arts and sports programs, learn the cheers and school song, and stay for a special senior recognition!
