Lucille Murphy Booth was born to Marvin Murphy and Nora Holmes Murphy on May 18, 1937. She was married to Thomas Allen Booth for fifty-one years before his passing in 2014.
Lucille was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Mathiston and served as a member of the Eastern Star, Mathiston Chapter until its closure. Upon graduating from high school, at the age of eighteen, she went to work at Wells Lamont where she remained until her retirement. Lucille liked going to the Food Center in Mathiston on Friday nights to play games, cards, and dominoes.
Lucille is survived by a son, Thomas A.(Tom) Booth II (Amy), stepdaughter in law, Kayla Booth, and a step grandson Timothy Allen Booth.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Nora Murphy; her husband Thomas Allen Booth; brother Wiiliam Walter Murphy; sister Lola Mae Griffin and stepson Gerry Norman Booth.
A visitation for Mrs. Booth will be held Friday, June 21, 2024, from 6 pm until 8 pm at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 22,2024, at the LaGrange Methodist Church of Mathiston. The Committal service will follow the service in the church. Jack A Hendricks was born November 15,1939 to Sidney Hendricks and Fannie Avery Hendricks and passed away June 1, 2024.
Mr. Hendricks was a lifelong resident of Eupora. He was of Baptist faith. Jack loved hunting and fishing when he was able.
Mr. Hendricks is survived by his son Philip Alan Hendrick Sr, Joy Hendricks special friend Dorthey Powell and one sister Joan Denley.
He is preceded in death by one brother Guy Hendricks; three sisters Katie Gulledge, Catherine Cole, Betty Dulaney; and one grandson Philip Alan Hendricks Jr.
Pallbearers will be Gene Hendricks, Steve Hendricks, Reuben Cole, Mike Swindoll, Roy Hitt, and Danny Crutchfield. Officiating the services will be Brother James Caffey.

Marie Hodges Burton was born in Choctaw County, MS to James Thomas Hodges and Leverne Franklin. She was married to James Aldon Burton for fifty years.
In her lifetime, she loved to travel while she was able. Her hobbies included sewing, fishing, quilting, and gardening. She also loved game shows, Perry Mason, and her Folgers coffee.
Marie is survived by one son David Burton; five daughters Linda Dempsey, Joyce May, Debra Medders, Darline Jones (Dexter) and Julie Salley; one niece Mitzi Sanderson.
She is preceded in death by her husband James Burton, her parents James and Leverne Hodges and three sons Douglas Burton, Russell Burton and Roy Burton.
A visitation for Mrs. Burton will be held Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 6 pm until 8 pm at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora, MS. Wise Reed Funeral Home is proud to announce that Robyn D’Lyn Davis Bowen is joining their funeral home as a Funeral Director Resident Trainee. She is registered through the Mississippi State Board of Funeral Service and has received her certificate as a trainee. After serving twelve months as a trainee, she will be able to take her state board funeral director’s license test. Upon passing her state test she will be a certified Funeral Director and continue to work with Wise Reed Funeral Home
Robyn Bowen is the wife of Matthew Bowen and is the daughter of Nancy Davis and the late Mack Davis. She is the granddaughter of Peggy Wade, who was secretary at the Eupora Schools and worked with Bill Reed through much of her career. Interestingly, the owner of Wise Reed Funeral Home, Willie Reed, is the son of Bill Reed.

James Threet, passed away in Ackerman, MS, on May 24,2024.
James was born January 8, 1948, to James Emunal Threet and Betty Harris Threet Bowles.
James spent most of his life in Choctaw County and graduated high school in Eupora, MS. He spent most of his adult life working in law enforcement. He worked as a security guard at MS State Capitol, the Governor Mansion, and the Baptist Hospital. He loved working as a deputy in New Orleans Parish.
James is preceded in death by his parents, James Emunal Threet and Betty Harris Threet Bowles, and three brothers Jimmy C. Bowles, Lester P. Bowles, and Middleton L. Threet.
He is survived by a host of cousins.
A visitation for Mr. Threet will be held Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora. Fred Allen Vickers, age 80, passed away on April 21, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. He was born on August 02, 1943, to Otto and Ora Vickers.
Buzz, as he was known to friends and family, was a jack of all trades. He made furniture and was a fixer of all things for his wife, so she never had to worry about anything. He was a farmer and an avid gardener. Buzz worked at B&W as an inspector and pipefitter. He was a member of Double Springs Baptist Church in Webster County. He was a Master Mason.
Mr. Vickers is survived by his wife, Debbie; one son, Pat and Tonya Vickers of Bono, Arkansas, and one step-son Kirk Smith of Clarkson; two sisters, Mary Vickers of Clarkson, and Carolyn Watson of Tupelo; five grandchildren, Brandon Vickers, Victoria Vickers, Jadelyn Miller, Frankie Vignoe, Coletyn Vignoe and four great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ora Irene Spikes and Otto Marshal Vickers.
A visitation will be held from 1pm until 2:00 pm on Wednesday April 24, 2024, at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora with funeral service following at 2:00 pm in the Wise Reed Chapel. Committal Services will also take place in the Chapel at Wise Reed Funeral Home. The burial will be at Clarkson Cemetery.

Shauna enjoyed gardening, painting, arts and crafts, and making gifts for family and friends, who she loved taking care of. She loved all animals and especially watching birds and dragonflies.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Kathleen and LC Robinson, Billie Jean and David Lane; and one brother Robert Weeks.

Gladys Jeanette Huffman

Gladys Jeanette Huffman, age 82, passed away at her residence on April 10, 2024.
She was born on August 8, 1941, to Harvey and Gladys Kelly Johnson. Jeanette has lived most of her life in Webster County where she was a loving mother to her two daughters, Deborah and Gail, and devoted wife of 64 years to her husband, Thomas. Her life with Thomas started on a blind date in Greenville. They dated for three months before getting married. She was an employee of Wells Lamont Glove Factory where she worked as a thumber until the plant closed its doors. Jeanette was a member of the Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Aside from loyalty to her daughters and husband, Jeanette loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings as well as reading, watching tv, eating out, and shopping. Her family will be fondly reminded of Jeanette when they look upon her flowers, she took such pride in.
Gladys Jeanette Huffman is survived by her husband Thomas Huffman of Eupora, MS; Two daughters, Deborah Barnett (Huelon) and Gail Stafford (Joe Huffman); two grandchildren, Chris and Ken Barnett and six great grandchildren, Kendyl, Michael, Riley, and CJ Barnett, Allie and Gianna Korber.

It is with heavy heart that we announce, Jena Gail Pater Woods, age 47 of Jonesboro Arkansas, passed away peacefully, on April 03, 2024, after a long hard fight with cancer. Jena was born on October 11, 1976, in Tuscaloosa, Al.
Jena was a graduate of Brookwood High School and attended Shelton State Community College where she received her LPN degree. She was a loving mother to her boys, Daniel and Mason.
She is preceded in death by her father Jan Pater.

Jena is survived by her loving husband Gary Douglas Woods Jr; her sons Daniel Woods (Izzy Diaz), of Northport AL, and Mason Woods of Jonesboro AR; her mother Andrea Kizziah Barnes of Fort Walton FL; her sisters Jacklyn Harris of Tuscaloosa, Al and Allyson Westbrook Barnes of Tuscaloosa AL ; father-in-law and mother-in-law Gary and Paulette Woods of Tuscaloosa, AL; sister-in-law Christina Crowder (Chris) of Northport AL; her aunt Dianne Salley of Northport, AL; and 7 nieces and 2 great nieces.
The family would like to thank all those involved in the care and comfort of Jena including Esmeralda Rivera, who stayed by her side day and night until her passing. Susan Redd Vaughn, age 63, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center -Eupora on March 7, 2024.
She was born on August 19, 1960, to James Alvin Redd and Eyvone Thompson Redd. Susan has lived the last thirty-four years of her life in Webster County. She was a faithful member of the Walthall Baptist Church where she sang with the choir, attended the Adult II Sunday School Class, belonged to the SonShine Club, member of the WMU, and was an assistant teacher for the preschool Sunday School Class. Aside from her loyalty to her church, Susan loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings.

Susan Redd Vaughn is survived by her fiancé’ Russell Hood of Eupora, MS; one son, Chris Dickerson (Courtney) of Bellefontaine; a sister, Patricia Redd McClure (Larry); and two grandchildren, Parker and Owen.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, James Alvin and Eyvone Thompson Redd.

Danny McBride

Danny McBride, 70, of Mathiston, passed away on March 2, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center - Tupelo.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara McBride, of Mathiston; two sons, Chris McBride (Ashley) of Mathiston and Joshua McBride (Amanda) of Mathiston; and two sisters, Erma Jean McBride Gillis (Rodger) of Sturgis and Diane McBride McCarty (Jim) of Tupelo. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Hope and, Luke McBride and William McBride. Danny is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Rosa Bell McBride, and one brother, Jim McBride, all of Mathiston.

Danny graduated from Ackerman High School in 1971, where he played trombone in the band and loved spending time with his close friends. Following high school, he enlisted in the Mississippi Army National Guard and served as a Staff Sergeant in the Battery B (Det. 1) 114th Field Artillery for six years.

Danny married the love of his life, Barbara, in 1974. They enjoyed life, love, and marriage for 49 years. They have two sons, Chris and Joshua, and they loved watching them play football while they were in high school. Danny worked at Flexsteel for 20 years until his retirement. He loved to share his gift of upholstery and furniture design and had his own business for 20 years.

In his early years, Danny loved fishing, hunting, gardening, and upholstery. In his later years, Danny loved spending time with his grandchildren, Hope, 13, Luke, 9, and William, 10. They loved helping their Papaw in his garden, yard, hunting and in his upholstery shop.

A visitation will be held at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora on Saturday , March 9, 2024, from noon until 2pm. Funeral service/graveside at 2pm at Wise Reed Funeral Home. Burial will be at Blythe Creek Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chris McBride, Jeff Crowley, Scotty Davis, Brad Bradford and Andy Gillis.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren, Hope McBride, Luke McBride, and William McBride. Bro. Jeff Vanlandingham will be officiating.

Hattie Bertine Fowler 87, passed away on February 29, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. She was born on November 25, 1936, to Irene Stanley and William Cooksey in Webster County MS.
As a faithful member of White Hill Baptist Church, she loved the Lord. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and working in her yard. She raised four boys, but her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her world. When she was able, she delighted in cooking for her family who, in turn, boasted that her banana pudding was the best in the world.
Bertine is survived by four sons, Jimmy Fowler, Johnny Fowler (Donna), Jeffery Fowler ( Cindy), and Gerald Fowler, all of Eupora; one brother Jerry Cooksey of Eupora; three sisters Sybil Stone of Fulton, Ilene White of Eupora and Carolyn Sisk of Mathiston; six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bill Fowler; parents William and Irene Cooksey; four brothers, Woodrow, Charles, Robert and Homer Cooksey; one sister, Martha Cooksey.
A visitation will be held from 12 am until 2:00 pm with funeral service following at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 3,2024, at White Hill Baptist Church in Webster County. Interment will take place at White Hill Cemetery.

Arementa Faye Woods, age 90, passed away on February 23, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. She was born on June 02, 1933, to Myrtle Cates and Admiral Dewey Dickson in Grayson County, TX.
Arementa traveled all over the world and made it clear that she didn’t want to travel anymore. Being honest and straight forward, she opted for the simple life raising her two boys. She loved working in the yard, gardening, and cooking. She was of Baptist faith and attended Montevista Baptist church. She was loved by her many nieces and nephews who called her Aunt Mickey
Arementa is survived by one son, Dean Woods (Debra) of Springfield LA; one grandson Matthew Woods and a host of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Admiral and Myrtle Dickson; her son Terry Frank Woods; her daughter Marin Gail Woods; three brothers Hugh, Joe, and Ben Dickson; and three sisters June Loden, Martha Russell and Elaine Cannon.
A visitation will be held from 9 am until 9:30 am on February 27, 2024, at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora. Graveside services will follow at Montevista Cemetery.

Quinn “Q L” Jolly Jr.
July 10,1947– February 19, 2024
Mathiston, Mississippi

Quinn Jolly passed away at his residence in Choctaw County on February 19,2024.
He was born in Mississippi, to Quinn Lawson Jolly Sr, and Annie Lou Pritchard on July 10, 1947. QL, as he was known by family and friends alike, has lived the last thirty-nine years of his life in Choctaw County. Mr. Jolly joined the Air Force where he was Master Sergeant and was maintenance supervisor until his retirement. When he retired, he Retired! He was of Baptist faith and coming from Longview Baptist Church, joined Bethany Baptist Church. He was also a Gideon. QL was a great gardener and a great teacher, always teaching his wife something. Never formerly being taught the subjects, he also taught his sister algebra and geometry.
Quinn Lawson Jolly Jr. is survived by his wife Jean Dawkins Jolly; three sons Andrew (Chrissy) Jolly of Yuba City CA, Timothy (Kimberly) Martindias of Lodi, CA, and Thomas Martindias from the state of Washington; one sister Mary Lou Holden (Shannon) of Abbeville, MS; three grandchildren Emma Jolly, Holden Jolly and Cheyenne Martindias and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Billy Earl White
September 11,1947– February 17, 2024
Eupora, Mississippi

Billy Earl White passed away at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North Mississippi in Oxford, on February 17,2024.
He was born in Arkansas to Vernon Lee White and Geneva Mae Dempsey on September 11, 1947. Billy Earl has lived the last fifty-two years of his life in Webster County. Mr. White did a stint in the Air Force then returned home to work with his father on the farm in Lodi and at the Shell Station in Eupora. He worked for a while at Plymouth Tube before his retirement. He joined the First Baptist Church of Eupora in 1986. Billy Earl is described as a simple, straight-talking man who didn’t have a lot of hobbies outside of his grandchildren and tinkering on old Volkswagens.
Billy Earl White is survived by two sons, Shane White (Bobbie) of Holcomb, MS, and Colin White of Eupora; one brother, Gary White (Kathy) of Long Beach, MS; two sisters, Barbara Jackson (James) of North Little Rock, Arkansas and Ellen Powell of Meridian, ID; two grandchildren, Valerie Billingsley (Cade) and Josh White; two great-grandchildren, Brayden Billingsley and Ava White.
Billy Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon Lee and Geneva Mae White; three brothers, Vernon White, Jr, Robert White, and Johnny White.
A visitation for Mr. White will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora. Johnny “Hot Rod” Spencer
April 29,1962– February 15, 2024
Eupora, Mississippi

Johnny Spencer, known to some of his friends as “Hot Rod”, passed away at his residence in Webster County on February 15, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was born, John William Spencer, to Grady Lee Spencer and Bonnie Thompson on April 29, 1962, in Webster County, where he spent his life. Johnny graduated from Eupora High School in 1980. He married Helen Henley in May of that same year and remained so until his death.
Johnny and Helen spent forty-three short years together living life, raising their children, and making memories with family and friends acquired along the way. Johnny was a self-employed truck driver and when he wasn’t working, he spent his time shining on his pickup truck and restoring old walking sticks. He loved children, especially his grandchildren with whom he had a special bond. He will be sorely missed by all that loved and knew him.

John William Spencer is survived by his wife, Helen Henley Spencer; one son, Marshall Spencer (Taran) of Odenville, Al; one daughter, Fran Devers (Robert) of Eupora; one brother, Grady Michael Spencer ( Martha) of Philadelphia, MS; one sister, Sarah Campbell “Poo Poo” of Stewart, MS; six grandchildren, Chesney Devers, Maddie Spencer, Jacob Devers, Andy Devers, Hayden “Shug” Devers, Johnathan Spencer; one great-grandchild, Scarlett Devers, and second cousin, who was like a brother, Keith Sellars “Yankee” of Memphis.

Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Bonnie Spencer, and one granddaughter, Gracie Devers.

The family of Johnny would like to offer a special thanks and appreciation to North Mississippi Home Health Services, Legacy Hospice, and Dr Vowell for their care and kind attention to their loved one.

A visitation for Mr. Spencer will be held Saturday, February 17, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Wise Reed Funeral Home in Eupora. Services will be held on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 2:00 PM in Sapa Baptist Church with burial following at Sapa Cemetery. Brother Charles Lee White will be officiating the services. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.

November 12, 1958 ~ February 12, 2024

Glen Dale Davis was born November 12, 1958, in Eupora, MS. He passed away to his heavenly home for Clarkson, MS. He was surrounded by his wife of 48 years and children. Glen Dale was preceded in death by his father Calvin Davis, his mother Darlene Hunt, his stepmother Betty Davis, his sisters Jolene Davis, Renae Davis, and brother Calvin Davis Jr. He is survived by his wife Donna Barnett Davis, two sons Dale Davis (Tonia), Cody Davis (Jill) one daughter Brandy Davis (Lyle). His grandchildren Reid Johnson, Adrianna Brasher (Byron) Jason Davis ( Madison), MacKenzie Bodry, Brynn Halford Austin Green (Kotone), Cody Davis Eli Bodry, Blake Weeks, Cain Brasher, Hiro Green and one soon to be great grand daughter Ruby. His sisters Shirley Phillips *Bert) Robbie Davis, one brother Scotty Davis (Brandy) and several nieces and nephews that he loved as his own.
Glen Dale was a self-employed contractor. He worked hard all his life to provide for his family. He lived life to the fullest, never meeting a stranger, and always ready to help anyone in need. His family was his world. He enjoyed Fishing, cooking, and spending time with family and friends. Glen Dale was always ready for a game of Bingo or playing cards. He will be dearly missed by all. Glen Dale, we will love you forever and always.
A memorial visitation will be held Sunday from 2 pm until 4 pm. at Wise Reed Funeral Home . Friends and family are welcome.

Lisa Werber Wilson, age 63, passed away on February 5, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora, Mississippi. She was born on May 22, 1960, to Hazel Catherine Guthrie and James Richard Werber.
Lisa has lived in Mississippi for 35 years. Her family remembers her most as being a jokester, always clowning with everyone she met. She spent most of her spare time fishing, sitting by a fire, playing bingo with her sister, and crocheting. Before coming to Mississippi, Lisa spent many years in Florida where she loved to ride down the coastline and listen to music. Lisa loved animals, especially her cats.
Lisa is survived by one son, Ethan Wilson (Fiance, Jessica Sapp) of the Bywy Community; two daughters, Jessica Bright (Kevin) of the Bywy Community and Jennifer Gazaway (Kenny) of Ackerman, Mississippi; one brother, Richard Werber (Sally) of Jacksonville, Florida; two sisters, Leslie Klienhenz (Doug) of Florida and Linda Camp of South Carolina; and nine grandchildren, Skylar Wilson, Autumn Wilson, Nova Wilson, Cash Wilson, Beau Bright, Woodrow Bright, Madison Gazaway, Trace Gazaway, and Ava Jane Gazaway.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hazel Catherine Gutherie and James Richard Werber; one brother; and two sisters, Laura McKeon, and Lori Werber Kent.
A funeral service for Lisa Werber Wilson will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. A visitation will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Pallbearers are Kenny Gazaway, Kevin Bright, Ethan Wilson, Steve Wilson, and Larry Wood. Honorary Pallbearers are Trace Gazaway and Beau Bright. Officiating the services are Brother Ben Hill. Burial will be at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Choctaw County, Mississippi. Wise Reed Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
