How are you taking care of yourself in 2024?

Picture this, the bases were loaded, and I was up to bat. I hit the ball and started running towards the first base. Suddenly, I felt a twinge in my quad, a harsh reminder that we're not in our twenties forever. Walking became a struggle, at that moment I knew it was torn. I knew I had to take action if I wanted to participate in the CrossFit 2024 Open. Fortunately, calling Jocilyn and making an appointment was easy. After her customized recovery process, I'm moving again! She listened to me and gave me the care I needed. Jocilyn and Max are the best! Their practice is professional and top-notch.

I was experiencing pain and discomfort in pressing movements which was affecting my workouts. Unlike physical therapists I’ve seen in the past, Jocilyn encouraged me to continue moving. Instead of telling me to just rest or stop doing the movements that hurt, she walked me through exercises for strengthening the area and advice on how to modify my current training. In our first session, she helped me identify which muscles should be working and how they should be moving to keep me safe and pain-free long term. I can press in all directions now with no pain! Because of the exercises and information Jocilyn gave me, I can feel the correct muscles working in the correct ways in all movements, not just the ones that were causing me pain. It’s so important to have a physical therapist who both asks for and also understands my fitness goals and who will guide me through effective ways not only to reach my goals but also to maintain a healthy body for the long term.
