We cook affordable homemade food. We are a small but mighty restaurant that makes homemade food on site.
Though much of what we do is Italian inspired, we are not restricted to that genre. Please check our website www.davesnewkitchen.com for more info.

Today is September 1. It's been almost 18 months since we've last served indoors and it does not appear that we'll be doing so anytime soon.
Fortunately, we have been able to navigate through these uncharted waters and are still using quaint figures of speech. Due to your highly appreciated patronage, my staff & I have continued to cook affordable, homemade food. And we plan to keep this going.
We are part of the Grubhub delivery network, which (astonishingly!) seems to be working well. Please be aware that Grubhub prices are about 10% higher than our regular ones.
For online pick-up ordering, please go to davesitaliankitchen.com and order through TOAST. Doing so will get you a 5% discount if you enter the word LOVE in the correct place.
Thank you for your understanding! Dave

July 3, 4 & 5.
Thank you for making this possible!
When indoor dining was shut down about 15 months ago, I thought it was the end of my restaurant world. Very fortunately, the incredible support given by my customers proved me wrong. My grateful staff & I have survived that unusual period are now figuring out what's next.
This should be an easy thing to do but... Converting from full service to takeout only was relatively simple. Transitioning back will not be. Though our revenue fell by about 20%, our suddenly strong takeout sales caused us to be a different kind of restaurant - one that would be set up with no indoor dining. That meant new equipment, new layout & different hours for workers, including myself. At this point, we could not gracefully accommodate both takeout & indoor dining.
An emissary from the City of Evanston has approached me with what will be a helpful way to renovate our small dining room. As of today, I'm waiting to see where that goes. My staff & I continue to look for better ways to reorganize. But for now, we will remain takeout only.
Please continue to enjoy our homemade food.
Thank you! Dave (June 10th)
We're now in the Grubhub network.

SPRING BREAK!
We'll close for the Easter Weekend,
AKA April 2, 3 & 4.
Spring forward forever?
For almost five years, Dave’s New Kitchen has been carrying on the better traditions of the fallen Dave’s Italian Kitchen, which lived from 1972 to 2016. We still strive to serve real, homemade food at reasonable prices to the Evanston community. We continue to make our own bread and so many other things on the premises.
But in the past year, so much has changed & you don’t need me to tell you what those changes have been.
For a small restaurant in what is now a forever altered industry, what’s next?
I’m not sure.
Since March of 2020, we have been surviving with no indoor dining. That we have done so is a testament to our kind & understanding community, for which I am grateful. At the very least, I do not want to resume indoor dining until all my staff & I have been vaccinated. I joke that we’re dying to serve you but we’re not going to die to serve you. And we don’t want to serve indoors until virtually all of you are safe. So for now…
Please call in for take-out. You may also order online from our website (davesnewkitchen.com) and it is to our mutual advantage if you do so. Ordering online means that you don’t have to wait on telephone hold & paying online helps lessen your wait time when you arrive to pick up your food. And when you order online for pick-up, we offer a 5% discount. We are happy to provide curbside.
IF YOU DO COME IN, YOU MUST MASK!
We do not have in-house delivery, but you may order through Grubhub and other third party services. Those companies do charge for their services so please be aware of their fees before you order. Please also know that we have no control over what they do. If you have delivery issues, you must address those to them.
We are located about a block east of the Purple Line stop on Noyes Street. There is a limited amount of street parking and a small pay lot at the “L” stop.
I can be contacted at [email protected].
