“Quint” aka “Karson” is living the best life in a loving home. This is the pay off for us . We love to see our animals living life to the fullest ! His story is unfortunately a story we hear too often . He was transported up from the south by a shelter who does a huge number of puppy adoption. He like most other tiny cute puppies was adopted quickly then only a day or two later they realized they were not prepared or able to care for a puppy. (Here is alittle advice PUPPIES/ANIMALS are ALOT OF WORK!!!!!! They should not be an impulse decision you should think long and hard and decide if you can give them the time and financial commitment before taking one !!!!!! )…….Did the shelter take him back? NOPE they did not apparently they were “full “????? …. So what would happen to an innocent life whose whole world has been turned upside down in a week? Well he was listed on a free rehoming site . When I saw the post I reached out immediately and was able to secure him …… Just so everyone understands this puppy was brought here for a better life which is understandable but by the time he was 9 -10 weeks old he was already transported for hours if not days on a truck , spent a few days at a shelter then adopted spent a few days at a new home and wasn’t “adjusting well”…. We need to do better as rescues and people . These are innocent animals and have no voice in any of this. I am happy to say This little boy found a happy ending but I can assure you millions others do not . He is a lucky little guy was adopted by a family who was clearly prepared and willing to do the work to make him into a great family dog! If every animal lived like this the world would be a better place . Until then we will continue to try and help as many as we can find “the good life “ … welcome to it quint !!!!

This makes me so angry!!!! Animals are NOT toys they require care! They are living breathing souls with feeling and deserve so much better than they get . Everyone wants to know “the story” so here it is he was being used as a breeding dog . End of story when he was no longer able to produce any money he was useless apparently. If you are using your animals to make money the very least you could do is provide vet care . He is safe he will see a vet ! I have no idea if he can be helped and if he can at what cost? What I do know is the breeder you know the one making money off of him will not be paying the bill !!!!!!!!! This is unacceptable! Welcome to the good life we will try our best to help

When I look at this picture I see an animal who is happy and content . I see an animal who is loved I hope you can see that as well ….. Her past is behind her and while we never speculate on an animals past what we do know is it had to be painful. We don’t know how it happened or why she didn’t receive proper medical care but what we do know is she somehow ended up with a broken leg and her growth plate closed and because she didn’t get medical care she is now going to lose her leg. She is a sweet loving dog and deserved better! At this point all we can do is look forward ! Take a look at her face and it will tell you everything you need to know about the compassion loving fosters/people/rescues/shelters I work with everyday !!! They go above and beyond for these animals and I am so proud to say I have been volunteering with these woman for over 20 years ! Time and time again I put out a plea and they step up and help !!!!! I am honored to call them my closest friends! Welcome to the good life baby girl you have a team of people behind you and you will receive the care you deserve! People have reached out about donating to her care and I appreciate the support once we know the cost of the surgery I will post how to donate to this sweet girl !

When I came across a post on a rehoming site about an injured puppy I reached out. I always try to help free or injured animals because usually the outcome for these babies are not favorable.They only had this precious soul for a short time and did take her to a vet for her injured front leg. Diagnoses was amputation since it is an old injury and her growth plate grew over the injury. They couldn’t afford the surgery. She is the sweetest puppy and obviously didn’t deserve any of this but we will make sure she gets all the vetting she deserves. She saw our vet today and got much needed pain meds . She is in a loving foster home. She is safe and loved and will receive care because people and my closest friends always step up when I ask for help !!! I know I always say it but It truly takes a village and I am so happy I have other rescues and rescuers who time and time again say “yes” when I put out a plea for help. Welcome to the good life sweet baby we got you !!!!!!!

Most of the time people reach out to us for help but this time we came across a post on a local page begging for help with a dog who couldn’t stop coughing and they couldn’t afford to take him to the vet . We reached out and said we can help. She immediately took him to the hospital. He saw a vet got some meds and hopefully he will be feeling better soon! It is a pleasure to be able to help these animals in their time of need . I included his bill if anyone would like to donate to his care ! Our Venmo is .

Babies and more sweet babies …..

Well this is a first …. We were out back painting the “cat house” and someone walked down the driveway looking to surrender this little nugget ….

The puppies are growing ALOT !!! Princess and the foster parents are doing a great job !!!!!

We named him “Craig” . The free dog off of Craigslist is doing great ! The thought of this friendly little guy handed off for free 2 times within 72 hours makes no sense to me. This time He was handed to a stranger in front of a mall without 1 word . Turns out that man was my oldest son who helps me with rescues . I will never understand it. He is not cleared for adoption yet hopefully next week . Welcome to the good life Craig !

Another dog listed for free on Craigslist ! Another one safe but come on people !!!!!! We need to do better ! We have NO history on him , person only had him 24 hours after she got him free from someone on Craigslist . So basically This precious little soul was handed over to someone who immediately handed him over to someone else but this time it was US !!!!! Lucky for him it wasn’t some random person trolling Craigslist for free animals! People will ask me all the time “Don’t you think something is wrong with him since he is being given away for free ?” My answer is always “I have no idea “. . Even when we have a history on animals it’s not always the truth. So what we do is we monitor the animal and get to know them. We have a behaviorist temperament test the animals and then a bio will be written up to find an appropriate home . I am happy to report so far he has presented to us as a happy friendly little guy! Welcome to the good life we will find you your forever home !!!!

Princess and the puppies are doing great. They are getting a lot of hands on care. She is loving her new space and the babies are safely contained. They are getting big fast and hopefully will be opening their eyes next week . Welcome to the good life little ones

Kitten season is here ! Someone did the right thing ! He saw these babies being giving away for free and he stepped up and took them all !!! He clearly cared for them , socialized them. He reached out asking for help getting them into loving homes . It is so nice to see there is caring and compassion people willing to do the right thing!!! We took them in and will get them vetted and into loving forever home . Welcome to the good life ….

Saw an ad for free cats and kittens . Mother cat with 4 , 2 week old babies and her sister . So I reached out explained what we do and they immediately said “yes please” …. So much easier when people accept the help offered . Welcome to the good life girls and little babies …..

Well I feel like I keep telling the same story over and over . This is the same exact story with the same exact person posting free kittens …. Last time we reached out said we could take all the babies and spay the mother he told us they all found homes and no to spaying the mom. So we reached out as a “person” not a rescue and he handed over 2 kittens . This time same ad same guy . I figured why not offer again to take them all and spay the mom? So I did . Again the answer was the kittens are gone and no to spaying the mom . So again we texted from a different number and he handed this precious baby right over to my son late last night without asking 1 question. I will never understand it but if he post again we will make the same offer …. Welcome to the good life

Princess had her puppies . She had 4 but unfortunately we lost 1. Is she resting comfortably in her foster home. I will be giving updates as the puppies grow. Welcome to the good life little tiny babies !!!!

Another day another cute puppy coming into rescue. He is only 6 weeks old and needed to be gone before “his sharp teeth came in “ …. He is in a foster home and won’t be cleared for a few more weeks. Welcome to the good life little fella …

I NEVER thought I was going to able make this post but here it is .. PENNY was finally adopted into a home ! If you follow us you know she came into the shelter as a hunting dog that” wouldn’t hunt “… over 1 year ago!!!!!! She was at the shelter for a few weeks and it was pretty obvious she didn’t want any human contact . She was never ever aggressive just avoidance at all cost even if it meant hurting herself to get away from people. I took her in thinking she would be able to decompress and come around . I was wrong . After being with me for a few months we were really at the same point she didn’t want anything to do with humans . We were really struggling on what would be next for this sweet girl who was so clearly terrified of people but LOVED dogs . We decided to send her to board and train for a month. It wasn’t cheap but it was really our last ditch effort to help her. Unfortunately after a month at board and train came the news “she isn’t a candidate for adoption”. We were just devastated she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body never heard her even growl but if she can’t accept humans how can we place her in a home!!! There was difficult conversation there was sleepless night . Thankfully the board and train facility said she could stay there while we searched for a sanctuary. We emailed every sanctuary we could find . We called other rescues and we came up empty handed again and again . Well as luck would have it a friend of mine and a HUGE animal person started to work at the facility she was being boarded at. She had met Penny many times at my house and brought her dogs over to play with Penny time and time again so she understood her . Once she started working she made sure she spent ALOT of time with this sweet dog and was determined to gain her trust. She spent MONTHS working with her. She took her home 2 weeks ago and I am happy to report Penny has found her person! I went to visit her the other day and all Penny did was look at her owner for reassurance look back at me and looked back at her as if saying “I’m safe ?” . She is work in progress for sure but she is finally in a loving home with a loving owner !!!! Welcome to the good life !!!

If you follow us you might remember Sandy now “Winnie “ we rescued her last year. Well she was adopted by an amazing family . This is the family who is fostering Otis . Foster family are so important to our organization and time and time again people step up when we ask for help ! I am so fortunate and grateful for all the foster family !!!!! They really make it possible for us to say yes to so many animals in need ….

Incoming 11 week old Bernie doodle … puppies require a lot of work and a lot of time I came across a post looking to rehome this puppy I reached out explained what we do and I am happy to report they did the right thing he will be placed into a foster home until we can medically clear him. He is not up for adoption until he is medically cleared welcome to the good life Otis.!!!!

3 more free puppies …. Sure why not … again it was literally minute by minute rescue when I was away. I reached out to people asking for help. Again people jumped right into action “yes I can go “ “yes we can hold them until you get back “ “yes we can foster “…. They are 10 week old males they will all be placed into foster homes until we can medically clear them for adoption. Welcome to the good life fellas ……

My sweet boy lucky went to a foster to adopt home a few days ago. It is a 7 day trail and a few days in they are asking if they can adopt him. They report he is fitting in perfectly and they love him…… so happy for this sweet soul !!! I will miss him but I am so happy he found his happily ever after …

Princess saw the vet today and then spent a little time at the beach ….. she is such a sweet little lady ,,. So far so good …..

Brady is home resting his dental and tumor removal went great. Thank you to every single person who donation to this sweet boy !!!! His owner is so grateful and said she never expected to have such kind people step up and help her !!!! We are also extremely grateful to be able to help animals in need and to have the support from all of you when we ask for help !!!! Thanks again !!!!!!
