As a member of the workforce education department, this position administers workforce programs in partnership with the 34 community and technical colleges in Washington. The position supports work-based learning education initiatives and is involved in grant planning and development, monitoring college activities and budgets, providing technical assistance, and producing required reports and system resources.

The program administrator reports to the Policy Associate for Workforce Education. This position will ideally be headquartered in Olympia. However, hybrid or remote work can be negotiated.

The annual salary is $83,496.

Washington State has a generous benefit package including health, dental, life insurance, long-term disability, retirement, and two optional deferred compensation programs. For health benefit information go to Washington Health Care Authority. The position is eligible to participate in the State Board Retirement Plan (SBRP) and Department of Retirement Systems (DRS).

General Description:
The E-STEM (Equity in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Peer Facilitator position is a leadership opportunity for EvCC students. Peer Facilitators will lead Academic Excellence Workshops (AEWs), which are group study sessions. Peer Facilitators will provide educational services to students pursuing calculus-based STEM majors.

Students in this position will:
Improve communication and leadership skills
Increase understanding of subject areas and how to approach topics in different ways
Increase motivation to learn in order to maintain new role
Increase higher levels of thinking

E-STEM Peer Facilitator Specific Responsibilities:
As a team member serving as a E-STEM Peer Facilitator, you are responsible to:
Facilitate study groups in STEM classes for AEW cohorts as needed
Work closely with faculty mentor towards developing new content for AEW study groups based on course content
Assist students with understanding course content and concepts
Prepare students for quizzes and exams
Help students learn organizational and study skills
Establish and maintain good boundaries with students
Maintain a positive work attitude in the face of challenging student behavior or expectations
Be open to learn and grow in acquiring student leadership skills with on-the-job training, evaluations and feedback
