Welcome to 2024!! Wow wow wow it’s so hard to imagine this is our 10th year as a market community!! We love serving our vendors and attendees aka you!. It’s amazing to see year after all the local artists and manufacturers out here doing their thing and making awesome functional goods to further enrich our lives. Seeing families grow over the years and kids come into their own and making decisions on what to pick up at an event. Seeing people influenced to take risks and take the next step to solidify themselves as a small business to step out and show their work. Seeing artists grow and enhance their displays over the years striving to have a successful brand that continues to grow and improve. With that being said we’ve also seen many businesses close up shop due to economic conditions and even just the emotional and physical stress of doing events so often and the costs and conditions.

Over these years we’ve strived to keep our events accessible for our attendees by ensuring our events have always been free to attend and all ages welcome. So you can come with friends and family regardless of how old or what they’re into to. We have always ensured a diverse mix of vendors featuring a wide range of products to try and satisfy everyone that shows up. Making sure to keep our access open to existing and up and coming small business artisans to have an opportunity to show their works to our wonderful community.

Looking ahead this year we definitely are excited to get back out there and bring you all some awesome experiences in the 2024 year and hope you will continue to come out and enjoy what everyone involved has to offer. Keep an eye out for some feedback requests coming out. If you have a minute to complete it that would be awesome. The intention of feedback is to continue to grow and improve. We thank you again for these 10 years and hope to keep it rolling.

Stay warm and safe and hope to see you all soon!

Artist Vendor Introduction:

Single Sploot is a haven for stickers, stationery and small goods fanatics with a love for cute and adorable corgi flare, hand crafted in the Pacific Northwest and inspired by our own Asian American culture, heritage and upbringing in Hawai'i. When a stationery collector, Linsey Reed brought home a corgi, Emi - she didn't know her life was about to change. She was inspired to take her passion for creative arts, the love she had for her corgi and the dreams of being her own boss to create items that could be shared with everyone. Single Sploot is a corgi themed sticker and stuff shop focused on bringing our favorite fluffy friend into our everyday lives. All designs are digitally illustrated from our home away from home in Seattle, Washington. We pull inspiration from our everyday lives, our history and our community. Items are handcrafted to the best of our abilities, and we work with other small businesses across the US to bring you the best quality product possible! We hope to use our love for our corgi to bring a smile on your face and everyone who encounters our pieces.

Artist Introduction:

Welcome to the enchanting world of Corina Lunita, where timeless craftsmanship and nature's treasures intertwine to create unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry. I am Corinne Mooney, the creative force behind this jewelry venture. Rooted in a family of artists, my journey has been shaped by a deep appreciation for artistic expression in its myriad forms.
I specialize in crafting jewelry that seamlessly melds precious metals with the allure of natural gemstones. My focus centers on these exceptional gemstones, transforming them into one-of-a-kind pieces celebrated for their heirloom-quality craftsmanship. I'm a certified Applied Jewelry Professional from the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), a testament to my unceasing fascination with the world of gemology.

Inspiration for my creations is drawn from the world around me, the joy of experimentation, and the stones themselves. My favorite stones include opals, included and interesting sapphires and diamonds, and Australian Variscite, each with its unique charm. Every piece of jewelry I craft narrates a tale of beauty and artistry, carefully selected gemstones reflecting their singular character.

Devoted to preserving traditional jewelry techniques, I employ methods like fabrication, casting, granulation, and stone setting, primarily working with precious metals such as silver and high-carat gold. At Corina Lunita, we take pride in alloying our own gold in-house, ensuring every piece is a labor of love from inception. The selection of each gemstone undergoes a rigorous vetting process, making every piece more than a mere accessory—it becomes a work of art resonating with the extraordinary.

I ardently pursue a 'zero-waste' lifestyle, applying the same principles to my jewelry as I do to my life. I insist on using solid sterling silver and gold, avoiding plated metals, and source all materials ethically, from recycled silver and gold to stones from small business owners and skilled stone cutters. My goal is to create jewelry that lasts a lifetime and can be cherished as an heirloom, just as enduring and timeless as the moon itself.

A little bit of history...
When I was 12, I took informal art lessons from a sweet, retired woman who was a family friend. Although her kindness, teaching, and encouragement stuck with me, it wasn't until I was 34 that I realized that maybe I really could draw and maybe it was my favorite thing to do! I have been very inspired by Gary Larson of "The Far Side"--drawing goofy chickens was probably my most constant form of art practice for a few years there. :) These days, I can't get away from drawing Mountains (especially Mt Rainier!), trees, and seas. I am so inspired by this beautiful corner of the world I live in.

Check out her beautiful creation out at the wintertide kickoff market celebration!! We will be housed in the giant event tents to keep us all cozy and dry! Artist Introduction:

Hi, my name is Mari. (she/they) I'm a Seattle-based Japanese artist, born in Tokyo and grew up in Chiba prefecture, Japan. I moved to the Emerald City permanently in the Spring of 2009, ever since then, the Pacific Northwest has been my second home, the misty forest air treats me gently here.

Each moment is once in a lifetime.
Everything changes constantly, nothing remains tangible forever.

This sentimental and beautiful cycle of life on Earth and the wholeness have been my creative inspiration. I have been thrilled to use media such as comics, watercolors, and stop-motion animation to tell stories and express the nostalgic, heartfelt vibrations that light my heart like a candle.

I have always been intuitive, but it wasn't until the last few years that I was able to credence it. During my journey of self-healing, I met the world of Energy healing, which brought a new chapter into my life. I am currently enjoying co-creating with cosmic healing energies and creating art while continuing my transformation journey!

Music is my happiness. I have played lead guitar in a punk rock band called P**p Attack! and fiddle in the Rats in the Grass, a string band for the last ten years. Playing music with my friends was like riding magic carpets with my favorite humans. My recent dream is to travel around the world with my fiddle :)

I am an artist, a musician, a healer, a mother... a curious multi-potential being! :)

Artist Introduction:

Yorkpatty handmade came about after a dream I had while pregnant with my little girl, my little “York” patty…..and of course my love to sew.
When I was three my mom (a seamstress too) started to teach me to sew - just simple buttons in scrap fabric at first and then onto clothing and quilts as I got older.
After having some of my own kids I rediscovered my love for sewing and realized it was a relaxing outlet for me. Now it’s part of my everyday life.
My fabrics are a mix of vintage, repurposed and modern. Whatever catches my eye but I have a special love of vintage polyester and linen. As of right now I mostly use knits because I’m all about the comfy cozy and what mom out there has time to iron their kids clothes?
From vintage trims to original screen prints (another love of mine) and embroidered details, each item is
one-of-a-kind or small batches so you’re getting something truly unique and perfect for treasured gifts.

Come on down to the at the Wintertide Kickoff event and check out all the great art and products our small business vendors will be offering.
