Friendly reminder: your lawnmower engine is (more than likely) air cooled. There is a fan on top that blows air down around the engine to keep it cool.

This system cannot work if underneath your shrouds are filled with leaves, dirt, oil, etc.

Power washing your engine can prevent this. Shrouds may have to be removed.

This engine had to come off its mower anyway, so of course we’re going to clean it before it goes back to the customer.

This was already stripped of the shrouds so it was worse about 30 minutes ago. The fins in the engine act to increase surface area to help it cool easier. Does not work if the fins are clogged

Rebuilding a Husqvarna chainsaw for a customer. Spark plug blew out of the top of the motor due an improper fuel mix.

Just to let everyone know a little bit about what I do.

During the week am a fleet mechanic, in charge of maintaining 30 vehicles from pickups to large dump trucks, as well as dozens of pieces of equipment from w**d Wackers up to bulldozers. I am the designated mechanic that keeps everything running, carries out inspections, and diagnoses issues as they arise. I also weld and fabricate when needed, so I am a full service technician.

This business is a full service shop setup to repair and maintain any small piece of equipment or small engine.

2 or 4 stroke, handhelds tools such as w**d Wackers and leaf blowers, any size lawn mower, snow blowers, chain saws, etc.

I can take care of any service or maintenance needs as well as any major repairs or diagnostics of problems.

I guarantee I can beat any shops in my market because I do not have the overhead cost they have. But doing this professionally for 5 years and on my own with my father my whole life, you can trust I have just as much experience as the techs at any of the bigger facilities.

1 benefit is I am also a mobile technician. A lot of diagnostics and maintenance I can come to you and do, so you don't have to pay me to bring your equipment back to my shop with the outrageous current price of fuel like you do with the bigger shops.

Customer contacted me because his mower scalped his yard pretty bad.

Turns out one of the blade spindles sheared the pulley because the bearings seized up and then proceeded to blow.

Upon further investigation, I noticed the pulley, along with the blade brake were trashed as well.

2 hours later and I was able to install the new spindle, brake, deck belt and pulley and he was able to get his grass cut like nothing had happened!

And of course if I have to pull your mower deck, I'm going to take the time to make sure your blades have a razors edge!
