When I met with my clients late last August, we started the conversation about selling their home which they had built 35 years ago. To say this was a difficult decision for them, would be an understatement! Not only did they LOVE their home, its stunning location and the community where it is located, they STILL loved how it made them feel every day! 💓

Referred to me by Agent outside of Compass, who knew I would be a perfect fit for this client. Being Seniors, they needed an agent to not only get the job done effectively, but to do it at their pace. I do believe, I was the right agent for them, and here’s why... I really do feel that my listings are special, whether it's something special about the house itself, and or the history of its occupants🏠 In this case, it’s both.

I take great pleasure in telling the story and this home, has a great story. It starts as a small bungalow on the Leonardo Marina just a few hundred feet from Sandy Hook Bay, just like many others built back in the 1940’s as a summer getaway. Years later it was raised (way before Super Storm Sandy) and became a one-story ranch that we believe was partially used as commercial space. Purchased in 2004 by someone who decided to add an additional level, making it a 3-story home by adding 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and an amazing loft-great room.

Resold in 2013 to Palmer & Dolores whom unfortunately, I never had the pleasure to meet. Dolores had just passed away and Palmer passed several years earlier. I was called in to interview with her sons Michael & Christopher who were searching for the right agent to represent them with the sale of their mom’s home. I could tell it was still very raw, and emotional for them. They told me they interviewed quite a few agents and selected me; I was honored and thrilled to get started. 💪🏻✅😀



I knew there was something unique and different about this home and its walls. Come to find out their mom was quite the artist! She had been the president of the Nutley Art Group for 20 years and was also the recipient of many awards spanning her years. Whenever my husband and I were showing the home, everyone remarked about how talented she was. The buyers would look more at the art, then the house itself, it was really something.
She had a wonderful ability to capture her subject as if they were sitting in the room with you. It was always enjoyable to walk around and stare at the walls and ponder what she must have been like and what she was thinking when she was seated at her easel in the great room overlooking Sandy Hook Bay, busy at work. She was a natural for sure! I have also been blessed to have been given one of her pieces from her sons, that was special. I would have liked to have met her. In some way though, it feels like I did."🤷‍♀️😉🤔

🌟 May’s “Word of the Month” is QUIETED. 

Every May marks “Mental Health Awareness Month,” and in recognition of that this year, I am choosing to quiet myself. This is NO easy task, my friends, because my mind never stops!
 
Being a critical + strategic thinker, with a splash of perfectionism, it is truly a battle to get my mind to rest. I am always thinking of next steps and the order in which I should take them. While this mindset can be extremely helpful in business it can be arduous + frustrating in our personal lives. 
 
My husband Dave often says, “Can’t we just go somewhere without a strategy?” My answer is “Nope!”  So, this month I will lean into that mindset- especially for him as we will be celebrating our 10-year wedding anniversary in just a few weeks. 🤍♥️🥰😍😘
 
Take time this month to take care of your mind, your body, and your soul.  I plan to do that with shutting off all the noise around me, getting outside for more walks and talking more with my Savior!
