30" of heavy snow in October. We'll be opening on Friday 11/15 with all runs open. Can't wait to see you again!
It's going to be another great year on "the Moose".
That 2 feet of wet snow from last week? It's now cooled and hardened into a smooth firm base with a few inches of dry powder, and snow crystals floating in the air.
Test run from 10/27. Believe it or not, this shot of groomer Jeff is all natural. It's called a "light pillar". More common from the ground up, but sometimes from the sun downward. Google it, some great shots on the web.
We still plan to open on the 15th, with a pass pickup day on Saturday November 9, but we have lots of work to do. Don't miss out. Stay tuned and we'll see you SOON!
Fabulous day on the moose
The Moose is buried in over 2 feet of wet snow. That's plenty for a base, but it's pretty much unskiable with a breakable crust and heavy wet layers. We are struggling just to plow parking lots and roads...forget about grooming right now.. Many trails are blocked with trees..snow should set up harder as the cold moves in. We are still looking at our target date of November 15 for opening. Take care of yourselves in the meanwhile...we'll get there.
Yesterday, 10/18/24...75% packed, ready for more! Thanks for this one Charlie!
We are looking to add to our team at the base lodge. If you are interested in seasonal part-time employment and are 18 or older, please email us. Include a resume, 2 references, your availability and contact information. Put "Attention: Melinda" in the Subject Line.
Just over 4" at Raven's Roost (upper ski patrol) this morning. Nice water content as well.
It's started. Looking for another great season on the Moose. Can't wait to see you all again!
