The Thomas Mansfield Legacy Award was started in 2019 at Elmcroft of Mountain Home to recognize associates that displayed the Elmcroft Values and lived up to our Mission.
Mr. Mansfiled enjoyed having discussions with community leadership regarding corporate structure and the importance of a positive culture in the workplace. As his health began to worsen, he began searching for a way to leave something behind and some way to be remembered. In January 2019, he presented the first Thomas Mansfield Legacy Award to a very special and well deserving Elmcroft Associate who absolutely displayed all of our core values. He was in tears as he read the inscription and presented the award. Later that day, a gallery was made to display each monthly award winner, complete with a picture and a plaque. Each day he would walk by the wall and look to see for new recipients and admire the pictures of the associates. Each day he walked by and saw his legacy.
Thomas Mansfield passed away on June 20th, 2019. It is because of his devotion and respect for the business of healthcare and the structure of a large organization that the award bears his name and it was my humble pleasure to present the first post-mortem Thomas Mansfield Legacy Award to Keith Harris, Maintenance Director at Elmcroft of Mountain Home. Keith has only worked with Elmcroft for a few months but he has drastically impacted the community with his drive and commitment. Each day Keith arrives to the community with a purpose to deliver top quality service while promoting the Elmcroft Values. We are all inspired by his dedication and leadership and look forward to his future contributions with Elmcroft. Congratulations, Keith!

Her response was more than we imagined: “There aren’t enough 'Thank you’s' in the world to tell you how much I appreciate all you did for me - actually the first birthday party I’ve ever had. The decorations, the food....oh, the food! I couldn’t believe how much, how delicious, how beautifully served it was. Outstanding! Love, Martha.” Join me in wishing Martha the happiest of birthdays!

Resident at Elmcroft of West Knoxville, Katherine, was born in Clarksville, Tennessee and is the ninth of eleven children. Growing up with so many siblings explains the importance of family to Katherine. One of her favorite things to do is spend time with family. Her son, Robert, plays a big role in that also.
When asked to describe Katherine’s perfect day, Robert chimed in that being around family would be ideal. With Robert’s help, Katherine was able to experience a day filled with family at a special music concert. Two of her great grandchildren, Grace and Matt, live in Knoxville. She also has a one year old great granddaughter, named Everly, who lives in Iowa. Katherine attended the Summer Strings concert by the Knoxville Symphony Youth Orchestra at nearby Bearden High School.
