This month is dedicated to recognizing the rich cultural contributions of the Hispanic and Latinx communities. It's a time to reflect on the history, diversity, and impact of Hispanic cultures in our society. We celebrate the traditions, languages, and vibrant heritage that have influenced so many aspects of our lives.

🎉 This week at Shenandoah at The Virginian, we’ve had a blast celebrating Assisted Living Week!

Our residents tie-dyed their own T-shirts, enjoyed some quality time with pet therapy, and went head-to-head with the staff in a fun game of trivia! We also made beautiful banners for Grandparents Day, celebrated Penny's birthday, and topped it all off with a refreshing ice cream social in our gorgeous courtyard.

We’re so thankful for these special moments that bring our community closer together!

On this Patriot Day, we remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, and pay tribute to the courage of first responders, everyday heroes, and the resilience of our nation that came together in the face of tragedy.

We reflect on the importance of unity, hope, and compassion and honor those who continue to serve and protect.

Our Independent Living residents had a wonderful outing to the National Gallery of Art, where they were captivated by the stunning Italian Collection. The beauty and history of the pieces truly made for a memorable experience!

What a perfect day to celebrate Labor Day at The Virginian! Our residents enjoyed the beautiful weather outdoors in our lovely courtyard, surrounded by laughter, music with the amazing Davis Bradley, and delicious food. It was the ideal setting for a day of relaxation, fun, and community.

As we head into the long weekend, we're taking a moment to honor the hard work and dedication of everyone in our community.

We enjoyed a fantastic day exploring the historic Pope-Leighey House, nestled within the beautiful Woodlawn Plantation in Alexandria. We were all captivated by the unique architecture of this Frank Lloyd Wright-designed gem and the fascinating stories of those who once called it home.

Our adventure continued with a delightful lunch at the Mount Vernon Inn, right on the grounds of George Washington's plantation. It was a day filled with history, culture, and wonderful memories! 🌟

Our Independent and Assisted Living residents from The Virginian recently enjoyed a remarkable day touring the Washington National Cathedral.

The stunning architecture and intricate stained glass was just beautiful and our tour guide was fantastic!

This is just one of our wonderful trips this year exploring history.

We are thrilled to announce that The Virginian has been honored with the 2024 Aurora Award for Best Service Enriched Senior Community! 🏆

This prestigious award, presented in affiliation with the National Association of Home Builders, recognizes our commitment to excellence and state-of-the-art renovations that enhance the quality of life for our residents.

A huge thank you to our dedicated team and wonderful community for making this achievement possible. We’re proud to continue providing exceptional care and services to our residents who call The Virginian home.

The Virginian’s Shenandoah residents got together to whip up some delicious guacamole! It was a fun activity that brought everyone together. From mashing avocados to adding the perfect blend of spices, we had fun making (and eating) our homemade guac.

Tonight’s Perseid meteor shower is one of the best shooting star displays of the year.
