September is Hunger Action Month – Feeding America's annual campaign to raise awareness of hunger in the United States and to take action to combat poverty, inequity, and injustice so we can end hunger for good. Every action―big or small―is one step closer to an America, and a Fairfield and surrounding community, where no one is hungry. When people are fed, futures are nourished, and we can all reach our full potential. Join us in the mission to end hunger right here at home for our neighbors in need in our community:

As we reflect on the 23rd anniversary of 9/11, we pay tribute and honor the memory of the brave and loved ones lost that day, keeping them and their families in our hearts. We hold dear their struggles will not have been in vain, and maintain a sense of hope for the future. We will never forget.
As 9/11 has been federally recognized as the National Day of Service and Remembrance and is intended to transform this national day of tragedy into a day of doing good, it’s become the largest annual day of charitable service in the United States. Please take a moment to support a cause close to your heart, and know that your donation makes a big difference ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

Feel Good Friday! 🥰 Earlier this summer, the 3 branches in Connecticut joined forces with Operation Hope for UBS' Season of Service event. In this annual community service campaign, UBS mobilizes employees across the Americas to create local impact in their communities through hands-on and skills-based volunteering.
Operation Hope was fortunate to be the recipient of hands-on help and donations from these 3 branches. The branches donated items and put together snack bags and toiletry kits for us to distribute our on outreach rounds and in our Community Kitchen and Pantry. The snack bags were chock full of healthy, protein rich items and handy essentials, including tuna salad kits, fruit cups, granola bars, mixed nuts, water/juice, utensil packs, napkins, tissues, chapstick and hand sanitizers. The toiletry kits were full of travel sized items including shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, shaving cream, razor, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste. Thanks so much to the 3 UBS Connecticut offices for collaborating on this important project and for the generosity. These types of "grab and go" bags are so helpful for our neighbors in need and we are grateful for the help 🙏🏽
If your company (big or small!) is interested in doing some outreach, such as these toiletry kits and snack bags or preparing meals, for Operation Hope, please send us an email at [email protected]

Our Annual Town-Wide Tag Sale just took place on Saturday, August 3. It was a beautiful day for selling treasures to help raise funds for Operation Hope! We'd like to extend our deepest thanks to our Tag Sale Chair Trudi Durrell, our 19 Tag Sale hosts, the many shoppers, Board members, volunteers and staff for joining forces to make everything come together beautifully. The Tag Sale helps sustain our neighbors in need and our operations throughout the year, so we are always grateful for the help.
19 Tag Sales were scattered around Fairfield and Southport, featuring toys, clothing, books, art, furniture, housewares, exercise equipment, vintage and more. It was a great opportunity to reduce, recycle and reuse - for a good cause. Thank you to our hosts for graciously opening their homes and hearts to help our neighbors in need.
Thank you to our shoppers from all over! It was fun seeing you discover treasures at the different sales.
Tag Sale Chair and longtime Operation Hope volunteer and supporter, Trudi Durrell is a champ! Nothing succeeds naturally without someone working on it, and under Trudi’s leadership, every detail was attended to impeccably. We are grateful for Trudi’s commitment, time and talent to run the Tag Sale.
We wish you a happy rest of your summer and stay tuned for announcements for some fun upcoming events to help our neighbors in need!
And that's a wrap on our Annual Town-Wide Tag Sale! 👏👏👏 We have many to thank and much for which to be grateful. They said they had the best day and are generously donating all $700+ from their Tag Sale proceeds to Operation Hope. We are deeply grateful for their participation and big hearts. It was a wonderful way for the family to come together to clean out house and recycle their treasures to help our neighbors in need 🙏
