Fresh cut flowers are an easy way to bring the outdoors in. And being able to cut them from your own garden gives multiple benefits....from the satisfaction of growing them yourself to the financial savings of not having to purchase them....there's nothing negative about it! 🌿

It's been a while since I've introduced myself so...Hi! I'm Tori and I'm a wife, mother of 2 elementary school aged children and 2 ridiculously furry cats. I'm also the owner of McBrien Interiors, an interior design firm based in Fairfield, CT. I've done high-end residential work across the country...from San Francisco, CA and Austin, TX to local projects here in Fairfield, Darien and Greenwich, CT. From single room revamps and kitchen renovations to spec homes and full new house builds, I'm skilled in everything from construction/plumbing/electrical plans to helping you choose the perfect sofa for your new family room.

I specialize in wellness design which means I create spaces that bring you joy, are designed with intention, bring you harmony for yourself and your family (and with the environment) and have good energy flow.

Did you know that there are big differences between the dragon depicted in medieval stories of knights and castles and those in Asian tales? While the Western Dragon is depicted as a fire-breathing, terrifying, winged menace to be destroyed, the Eastern Dragon is intelligent, benevolent and is a symbol of auspiciousness and growth. 🐲

If you've been following me for a while, you know I'm always striving for more knowledge. I've been called a "sponge" on more than one occasion and have always been "thirsty" for answers, looking to deepen my understanding of our connection to our environments, both the natural and the built. One of my goals for this month was to start my biophilic 🪴 design certification with the fabulous ....and I've started! It's self study so may take me a bit of time but I'm excited to delve into this subject in order to more fully incorporate it into my design work!⁠

A reminder to always look up...finding the quatrefoil (same shape as a four leaf clover 🍀AND my logo) as a ceiling detail in Westminster Abbey, one of my favorite buildings, certainly brought a smile to my face. A game room that sparks joy 🌈...by embracing the already dark room and painting the walls navy 💙 we created an arcade like feel. And adding a playful wallpaper to the ceiling (aka the fifth wall) and backsplash reflects some natural light around the room. A shuffleboard table, game table and custom bar area complete the space that this fun family uses to host gatherings with friends. ⁠

Our clients' English Pointers were the inspiration for this playroom powder room. 🐶 Custom pointer wallpaper together with black fixtures and crisp white accents tie the tiny yet whimsical space together. 🤎🤍🖤
