Stephanie Miranda has been with SSTAR for over 3 years!
Stephanie is the case manager for the psych providers in the outpatient clinic. Stephanie manages prior authorizations with the insurance companies, medication requests, releases and paperwork requests and calls, Teams, and emails regarding patients being served by the psych providers. She is hardworking and supportive. She goes above and beyond and manages well through the chaos of a busy clinic. She is always pleasant and helpful no matter what is being managed. She consistently steps in to help wherever needed and advocates for all of the patients in the clinic. She has been key to keeping the psych services moving forward.

Christine has been with SSTAR for 5 years!
Christine is a nurse at our Lifeline program. Her coworkers note that she is a perfect employee of the month. She is always one of the first to arrive to the clinic every morning and sets up all three windows for dispensing to make sure that everything goes smoothly when patients arrive. Christine greets every patient with a smile and with encouraging words. She always performs simple acts of kindness that promote a positive environment for our patients and for staff at 1010. Christine jumps in to help with tasks that are not hers, she consistently assists other nurses whenever she notices a need. She is a valued asset to all at Lifeline.

Ashley goes above beyond in managing the budgets and understands each grant and funding source, which is no easy task. She functions as both manager and coordinator. She steps in to cover when there is any transition in director positions. She manages multiple budgets with different funding sources and grant requirements. She has been instrumental in site visits. Ashley was key to the success of these visits. Her knowledge goes beyond just the fiscal component. Ashley made the transition from banking to non- profit work while working toward a master’s degree in health care. Her interest in healthcare expands her capacity to understand the programs. She has taken the time to set her educational goals consistent with the mission of the organization and seeking counsel from clinical and programmatic staff. Ashley always steps up to fill in gaps and help whenever needed.

Tammara is a nurse in the MAT program and has been at SSTAR for the last 4 years!
Tammara is described as a vital member of the MAT team. She consistently triages patient questions and helps them with their concerns making sure that they do not go without their medication. She is always kind, thoughtful and empathetic with her patients. She has great problem- solving skills which she always uses to get her patients what they need. Tammara is well connected to her peers and is a go to for them. She always shares her institutional knowledge with anyone who needs assistance and is a major support to all of those with whom she works. Vinny is a lead in our security department and has been with SSTAR for 7 years!
Vinny is reliable, dependable and takes great pride in his job here at SSTAR. He is highly visible and always circulates throughout the property. Vinnie is responsible for the schedules for security and always adjusts to make sure there is coverage for the safety of our staff and clients. He is a team player who regularly shifts his own schedule to make certain that everything is safe and often works extra shifts when necessary to maintain coverage. His communication is excellent with staff and management. Taking care of patient and staff safety is always his priority.

SSTAR Research just celebrated enrolling the 100th participant into the Retention phase of our RDD study. The purpose of the Retention phase is to test treatment approaches, including medications, to help people with opioid use disorder. SSTAR is the first out of the 20 organizations across the country working on this study to have enrolled 100 participants.

Alyssa Soares has been with SSTAR for over 9 years!
Alyssa is the Prevention Coordinator. She began her career at SSTAR as a peer leader and has held numerous positions within the organization being promoted into the Prevention Coordinator position. Alyssa is described by her peers as intelligent, thoughtful, and hardworking. She is adaptable and always willing to jump in to help wherever she is needed. She works hard on every project including community events, strategic planning or just moving furniture when needed! She co-leads a longstanding prevention coalition in southeastern mass providing leadership , vision and problem solving to address the complexities that exist in the care delivery system for our clients. She provides a judgement free zone, meeting people where they are at and always takes pains to highlight the youth in the community. Willie works in Project Aware providing referral, counseling, and testing services. He always prioritizes patient care above all else doing his best to accommodate the needs of every patient. He outreaches to the community attending events and caring for those who live in the SSTAR area of service. Willie strives to help each client where they are at and to assist with their harm reduction and recovery efforts.
