Good morning. Here’s a Perch Pot mini in progress, waiting for a bird to come by. The newest work experiments with a split foot. All pots are unique, handmade in porcelain. The pots are wheel thrown, and the birds are hand formed.

Today’s mini pots: Perfectly perched plumplings. I’m making a series of small works to test new glazes, but finding it very hard to throw the 1lb of clay for each pot. My comfort zone is 3-4lbs. That said, I’m so enjoying playing with different nuances in the bird and pot shapes.

I went by the in New Bedford today to check out the 65 artists in the annual open studios. I’ve never been here before and wow, what a treat. Shout out to who did a wonderful pinch pot installation outside her studio. The pots were beautifully displayed, and free for the taking. It’s her way of giving back to the community, with the hope it may inspire others to pay it forward.

Looking for festive events with a side of fun shopping? Get into the spirit at the 16th Annual Holiday open house and shopping event My ceramics and map art work, along with the work of many other local artists, will be on display in the richly decorated halls. November 25 - December 11, 10am - 4pm. Pre-registration is recommended. Tickets will be given up for 2- hour blocks. Admission is $10. Dates are Nov 25-27, Dec 1-4, and 8-11
