Always good to keep up with the local stats!

I'd also like to keep all these houses still standing after the 4th. So, if you're like me and enjoy setting off a few on the big day, here's some tips to not setting the neighborhood ablaze.

1) Have the hose on with a nozzle that can spray far and or an extinguisher 🧯

2) Keep a sturdy, large plastic bucket 🪣 with some water in it to soak the used fireworks in overnight.( Let's not add the dumpster fire 🗑🔥 to the bingo card of life)

3) Find an opening away from trees, power lines and rooftops.

4) Make sure your pets 🐕🐈 are well tagged and kept indoors during the festivities, especially if they are nervous with loud noises.(even the most unathletic pet will jump a fence if scared.)

5) Express the importance of fire safety with your kids, if you like them involved. They aren't always aware of their surroundings. (One of mine ran into a parked pontoon on the street this week, so awareness is key)🤣🤦‍♀️

6) And last but not least. Create some wonderful life long memories with those closest to you, whether they be traditions or trying something new.

We are little bit above par from last year. A few more days on the market, but to be expected when Buyers want to be sure of their large financial purchase.

🔵 𝐃𝐨𝐠 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠: Provide support to the dogs by walking, playing and simply spending time with them. Our volunteers are responsible for following all handling and training procedures, both in the building and while walking through the neighborhoods. 🔵 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: Support for the Animal Care staff. Responsibilities include assisting with laundry, dishes, kennel assistance, and misc. housekeeping tasks. Shifts are generally 2-3 hours in length and can often be flexible to your schedule.

🔵 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐲𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭: We need people to help us care for the building with various special projects that come up. We are currently seeking volunteers to help with flooring projects, monthly HVAC maintenance to replace filters and clean out the dryer vents, cabinet installation, painting, and general maintenance.

It's time for another Wish List Wednesday, and our buddy, Gomez, just pointed out that the pet pantry is starting to look a little bare 😢

Right before Christmas, we asked for your help to stock the pet pantry and you responded by dropping off or sending us almost 200 bags of cat and dog food (amazing!!). We have now used up all of those bags and are down to just a couple bags to continue to stock the pet pantry for dozens of pets and their families that need our help each day.

If you could help us out with this, we know the pets (and their humans) that utilize our pet pantry would greatly appreciate it!

If you're willing to help restock our pet pantry, we don't care about the brand of the food, nor do the pets that eat it. We will even take open bags that your pets can't/won't eat. Any food that is donated will be split up into gallon sized bags, so that we can make it stretch as far as possible.

Common brands we use are Meow Mix, Friskies, Pedigree, and Kibble & Bits, however, any brand works! We have added these brands to our wish lists to make it easier for you to help us restock the pet pantry!
