501(c)3 Pug rescue that covers all of Michigan

08/31/2024

Today is your freedom ride, Meatball!! This was a hard rescue. He was at a shelter that didn’t have his best interest in mind. He and his brother were parvo puppies, they euthanized his brother without giving us a chance to get him treatment despite already telling them we would come get him and pay for it. They also planned to euthanize this little man so they “didn’t have to deal with him”. Thankfully one worker at the shelter fought for him and kept him alive until we could get him. He spent 2 days at the vet and now is on his way to Michigan to live his best life!

I cannot thank our volunteers and foster enough for stepping up and giving this little man the chance he deserves! 🖤

🚨Meatball will be on medical hold until he has recovered fully, gets neutered and vaccinated 🚨

Let's hear updates on our alumni! If you have adopted from us, post a pic and update in the comments! We LOVE hearing how the pugs are doing! 😍

08/28/2024

**UPDATE** We are getting this puppy tomorrow and have a foster in place! Puppy is getting Parvo treatment at the vet currently, as is doing well. ❤️

----------------------------------------------------------------------
2 pug puppies (approx 6 months) are desperately in need of fosters! One of the puppies has parvo so it would need continued treatment at home after vet care has been provided(the other pug may end up being treated for parvo as well) These puppies could stay together or go to individual foster homes. They will be euthanized on Friday if the shelter cannot find a rescue that can assist. Would need to be in a home WITHOUT other dogs. Fosters can be in Michigan or any surrounding state. Reach out via messenger if you can help one or both of these pugs and please share with your dog networks!

Floyd had an amazing foster family who fell in love with him (how could you not!!!), and he is now officially part of their family! He even played a starring role in their big day! CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL! We love foster fails, or as we call them, Foster WINS!

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR DOMINIQUE!

7-Year-old Dominique is available for adoption! Dominique is a sweet gal who loves to cuddle. She does Ok on a leash, is house trained and seems to handle climbing stairs OK!

She has not been around children in her foster home, but they feel she would do fine as long as the children are comfortable with dogs and respectful of boundaries. Dominique seems to love everyone she meets and is a staff favorite at the vet office!

Dominique loves attention and lap snuggling! She travels in the car with no issues. She does well with other dogs but gets wound up with dogs who are overly active/playing too hard. Due to this, we feel she would do better in a home with calmer dog(s) or even as an only dog.

If you are interested in adopting Dominique, please fill out an application and submit the $10 application donation fee. Both can be done via our website (link below)

https://www.midmichiganpugclub.org/adoption-application

If you have already submitted an application and are interested in Dominique, please email our Adoption Coordinator, Rachel, at [email protected]

**Accepting Applications for Louie**

We are now accepting applications for this gentle, sweet boy! Louie is 13 years old and the epitome of a companion pug! He is searching for a loving retirement home for his golden years. ❤

He lives for chin scratches and love from his humans. Louie is potty trained and does fine free roaming, although he is also kennel trained. He does wonderfully on a leash and this senior fellow believes in taking things slow when out for walks.

He is deaf and has decreased vision. He occasionally has coughing fits which the vet said he will continue to have for the rest of his life.

Louie doesn't let anything get in the way of his love of lounging, enjoying snuggles, and bathing in the sun! He is currently on a grain-free diet.

If you are interested in adopting this adorable fellow, please fill out an application and submit the $10 application donation fee. Both can be done via our website (link below)

https://www.midmichiganpugclub.org/adoption-application

If you have already submitted an application and are interested in Louie, please email our Adoption Coordinator, Rachel, at [email protected].

Please share with your networks so we can find Louie the home he deserves!

$0 ADOPTION FEE FOR QUESO!!!!

A generous donor/supporter is covering Queso's adoption fee with the hopes that we can finally find this loving boy the forever home he deserves. This handsome fellow has been waiting a while for the perfect home to come along....we know it is out there somewhere!

Queso is a happy, healthy 8-year-old Puggle boy who was found as a stray.
He is potty trained and crate trained and his favorite hobby is lounging around waiting for belly rubs! He loves spending time on the couch or in the laps of his foster parents! He does tend to get jealous of other animals so Queso would need to be the only animal in his forever home.

Queso's ideal home would be one with adults only or adults with older children who know boundaries. He is protective and will let you know when he is uncomfortable in a situation. A family who could take him on multiple walks a day would be his dream as well as a home with a fenced-in yard to frolic in.

Queso is great with car rides and doesn't even mind when he gets baths!

Queso is a one-of-a-kind dog and deserves a great home!

Applications can be filled out on our website! Please note that we DO accept out of state adoption applications as well.

https://www.midmichiganpugclub.org/adoption-application

If you are interested in Queso and already have an application on file or would like to schedule a meet and greet, contact our adoption coordinator at [email protected]

Please share with all your dog networks!

George is one lucky pug to have found this amazing forever family! Congratulations!!!!

08/09/2024

Are you able to open your home to a pug in need? We can only continue to help pugs if we have amazing foster homes to place them in! Did you know you can even foster if you live in one of the states surrounding Michigan!?!?!?

As a foster, you will provide a loving home to a pug and the rescue covers all needed medical expenses while the pug is in your care. It's a wonderful way to help the rescue and it allows us to continue saving as many pugs as possible! Reach out to us at [email protected] for more info/questions/an application!

***Please note we are not yet accepting/reviewing applications for Lola as she is on medical hold****

Welcome to the rest of your life, Lola 🩷 The first picture is when she was picked up by animal control. She was only 9lbs and very sick. She was starving to death, had ear and eye infections and extremely anemic. Today, we busted her out of the shelter and she got her freedom ride to her foster home! She’s up to 13lbs and getting her s***k back! The shelter thought she was around 12, but it appears she’s much younger!

‼️She will be on medical hold until she is up to an appropriate weight, spayed, and up to date on all vaccines. ‼️

Cuteness overload alert!!!! This bonded trio is available for adoption! They have been living in an amazing foster home and are now on the search for their forever home.

Introducing Luna Muna (3), Molly (5), and Neve (4). Luna Muna is quite small for a pug, and their long-term vet told us she was more of a silver color as a puppy but is now dark brown. Luna Muna is a bit on the cautious side, as her older sisters demand more attention. She hides from them and tries to be inconspicuous, but when she is alone, she really opens up and shows her shy personality and big eyes that communicate her emotions.

Molly is a beautiful brindle pug with a fun pug personality. She is the calmest of the bunch but has a side that will push the other dogs aside for her time. She doesn’t bark much and has a cute little yap to get attention.

Neve is the middle pup, with an all-white coat. She has the most energy and craves attention.

All three are well potty-trained, do great with other dogs, love car rides (especially when in the passenger seat!!) and do well with kids.

They are not big on commands like sitting, but they do know the word “down” and respond by stopping what they are doing, whether it’s over-kissing or jumping on tables. These three are bonded and they really love each other.

Their vet informed us that Luna had surgery on some birth issue with her foot at BluePearl Pet Hospital and that she also has some issues in one of her back legs that may need surgery in the next few years.

Luna, Molly, and Neve got their nails cut, received all their vaccines, and were told it may be beneficial to lose a little weight... a common pug issue!!

These pugs love people and would do best in a home with a yard and with an owner who is around a lot to provide them with the attention they crave.

To learn more detailed information about the pugs, please contact us at [email protected].

If you are interested in adopting this amazing trio, please fill out an application and submit the $10 application donation fee. Both can be done via the link below. Please note that these pugs are bonded, which means all three will be adopted out to the same home.

If you have already submitted an application and are interested in the trio, please contact our adoption Coordinator Rachel at [email protected] to let her know.

Welcome, Boomer!! Boomer is a handsome 2 year old boy who is ready to find his forever home! He is neutered and UTD on vaccines. He does well with other dogs, cats, and kids! He’s an all around good boy 🥰. He will need help with his potty training. He sometimes thinks soft things inside are his own personal potty place 🫣

If you are interested in adopting this happy & healthy boy, please fill out an application and submit the $10 application donation fee. Both can be done via our website.

Accepting applications!

Hi👋🏼 My name is Queso and I’m a happy, healthy 8-year old Puggle boy! I was a stray until a Good Samaritan brought me to the shelter. From there, I entered foster care.

My foster family says I’m a good boy because I’m potty trained and crate trained. I pretty much lay around and ask for belly rubs most of the time. I love spending time with my humans on the couch or in their laps. I can get a little jealous of other animals so I need to be the only animal in my forever home.

My ideal home would be adults only or adults with older children who know boundaries. I am protective and will let you know when I’m uncomfortable in a situation. A family who could take me on multiple walks a day would be my dream. I’m good with car rides too if my future family is looking for a road trip companion. I also don’t mind getting baths!

I can’t wait to meet my forever family!

Applications can be filled out on our website!

If you are interested in Queso and already have an application on file, contact our adoption coordinator at [email protected]

Please keep the sweetest boy Finn and his family in your thoughts. No one knew what his life would be like or how long he had once he was diagnosed with the inoperable liver shunt. Unfortunately, he’s not been doing well 💔. He’s such an amazing little guy and needs all the love and healing vibes he can get.

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR GEORGE!

George is a handsome, sweet, 2.5-year-old fellow seeking his forever home! He is quite shy so it may take a while for him to warm up to his new family. He is quite submissive towards people and other dogs so if you have other dogs in your home, they would need to be submissive dogs that won't bully the sweet boy. He does well with children!

He is potty trained and would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard so he can run around and play!

If you are interested in adopting this happy & healthy boy, please fill out an application and submit the $10 application donation fee. Both can be done via our website.

https://www.midmichiganpugclub.org/adoption-application

If you have already submitted an application and are interested in George, please contact our adoption Coordinator Rachel at [email protected] to let her know.

ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR PETER !(ADOPTION PENDING!!)

Peter is a spectacular 5-year-old pug looking for his forever home! He likes playing with other dogs but is protective of his person, so we feel he would do best as an only dog in whatever home he goes to.

Peter LOVES snuggling, head scratches, playing fetch and happily hangs out in his crate when his foster leaves the house. It would be great if his new family could keep him active as he could stand to lose a couple pounds!

He gets anxious on car rides but does better if in a car seat next to his wonderful foster mom. He is fully potty ained and though he hasn't been around many children, the foster thinks he would do fine around them as long as they are respectful of his boundaries. He has seemed to do okay with the few kids he has been around

If you are interested in Peter, please fill out an application and submit the $10 application donation fee. Both can be done via our website.

https://www.midmichiganpugclub.org/adoption-application

If you have already submitted an application and are interested in Peter, reach out to our adoption Coordinator Rachel at [email protected] to let her know.

Welcome, Teddy! Teddy is a 9 year old pug mix. We’re not sure exactly what he mixed with- he’s all pug but with a longer nose! Teddy has had a rough life, bounced around to different homes and lived on the street for awhile. He ended up in a shelter, but no one wanted to adopt him 😞. The staff said he’s very sweet and they were happy to transfer him to us so he could be in a foster home until he’s adopted.

He loves people, and doesn’t seem to care what other animals are around, he’s a laid back, easy going guy! He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and overall healthy. He’ll get a quick follow up appt from his neutered then be ready for adoption!

🚩 Teddy is on a brief medical hold 🚩

09/19/2023

LOOK AT CLYDE 😍 What a difference a week makes! The vet is very pleased with his progress and he should be able to get his other drain out in a few days. His foster family is taking the best care of him and says he’s a snuggly little man 🖤

He will need ongoing care, so our donation link is still active, and you can donate at www.midmichiganpugclub.com

Thank you all again for your support. We couldn’t do what we do without our amazing volunteers, fosters, and supporters!

Welcome, Finn! Finn is 11 months old, loves everyone and is obviously adorable. He is special needs and his family loved him very much, but knew that he needed someone that could be home more to care for him. He has a liver shunt which requires multiple small meals a day, medication, and many potty breaks. He will be evaluated again to make sure he’s on the best diet and meds and neutered- then be ready for his forever family 🖤

🚨Finn is on medical hold 🚨

09/16/2023

From the moment a pug is surrendered to us, this is the goal 🖤 (and a pic of sweet Clyde resting at his foster home)

Here in this house...

I will never know the loneliness I hear in the barks of the other dogs 'out there'.
I can sleep soundly, assured that when I wake my world will not have changed.
I will never know hunger, or the fear of not knowing if I'll eat.
I will not shiver in the cold, or grow weary from the heat.
I will feel the sun's heat, and the rain's coolness,
and be allowed to smell all that can reach my nose.
My fur will shine, and never be dirty or matted.

Here in this house...

There will be an effort to communicate with me on my level.
I will be talked to and, even if I don't understand,
I can enjoy the warmth of the words.
I will be given a name so that I may know who I am among many.
My name will be used in joy, and I will love the sound of it!

Here in this house...

I will never be a substitute for anything I am not.
I will never be used to improve peoples' images of themselves.
I will be loved because I am who I am, not someone's idea of who I should be.
I will never suffer for someone's anger, impatience, or stupidity.
I will be taught all the things I need to know to be loved by all.
If I do not learn my lessons well, they will look to my teacher for blame.

Here in this house...

I can trust arms that hold, hands that touch...
knowing that, no matter what they do, they do it for the good of me.
If I am ill, I will be doctored.
If scared, I will be calmed.
If sad, I will be cheered.
No matter what I look like, I will be considered beautiful and thought to be of value.
I will never be cast out because I am too old, too ill, too unruly, or not cute enough.
My life is a responsibility, and not an afterthought.
I will learn that humans can almost, sometimes, be as kind and as fair as dogs.

Here in this house...

I will belong.
I will be home.

🚨AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION🚨

Buster is ready to find his retirement home! Even tho he is 12, he’s pretty energetic! But of course, still loves his naps!

Buster was neutered this week, and is recovering well. He did have some ongoing UTI concerns that will need to be monitored, but the vet is hopeful that those will resolve now that he’s neutered. Also, it appears that he is mostly deaf, but that doesn’t slow him down 🙂

He is good with other dogs, cats, and everyone he meets! He will make a great addition to any family looking for a sweet senior
