Good Roots
Good Roots Grant 2017
The Alabama Power Foundation is pleased to announce the Good Roots grant program, coordinated with the Alabama Urban Forestry Association and the Alabama Forestry Commission. Through Good Roots, the Foundation will supply up to $1,000 per grant to purchase trees for planting in cities, towns, communities and nonprofit organizations across central and south Alabama.
Good Roots is designed to help keep our communities beautiful and vibrant. The trees must be used in public areas – to enhance a park, add a canopy over the street or help shade a hot parking lot. They can be used around schoolyards, churches and libraries; but can’t be used by an individual or at a residence. Good Roots does not support shrubs or other landscaping foliage.
For more information on Good Roots grants and to apply, visit http://powerofgood.com/good-roots/
The application is available on the website from February 6 until April 7. Schools, churches, municipalities and 501(c)3 organizations are eligible to apply.
