Our inaugural year of our Agriculture Club was a huge success!

Students were able to learn about different types of plants, start their seeds and transfer them to allow for continued growth and participate in a fun culminating field trip to Gillis Hill Farm.

We are so thankful for all of the help, donations and support we received this school year!

On Friday, we held our 3rd annual induction ceremony (in person) for our CAK5 Elementary Beta Club. We are proud to receive the National Beta Merit Award for a 3rd year as we welcome 15 new students into our Beta Club. Student leaders took an active role in the ceremony with Maliyah (our club president) presiding while Owen (club secretary), Gavin, and Aida joined her in explaining the 4 pillars of Beta.

Join us in celebrating our 3rd year competing in CCS Science Olympiad. Just look at this awesome group of hard working students. They met online and in person to practice and prepare. Their families offered support in so many ways. We are so proud of you all!

Special shout-out to Ms. Cavaco and Ms. Weide for spending the whole day at competition ensuring a successful time for our students.

Congratulations to the kids who earned medals for 3rd place in the following events: Just Plane Awesome, Thrill Seekers, and Codebusters.

We had a wonderful Battle of the Books competition/celebration yesterday! We are so proud of all of our participants and a huge thank you to our coach, Ms. Foster-Sapp, for supporting the students.

As we approach the planning phase for the 2024-2025 school year, families must review their school assignment plans. While we hope to see all our families return to Cumberland Academy, we understand that the virtual environment may not be the best fit for certain students.
Parents, the window to request exits for the upcoming school year is now open. The Exit Request Form will be accessible until May 31, 2024. Late applications will not be accepted. Kindly submit an Exit Request Form only if you intend to have your child exit Cumberland Academy for the 2024-2025 school year. Your child will remain assigned for the upcoming year unless you submit an Exit Request Form.
Take your time to consider your decision carefully. If you choose to exit, please note that you must wait a year before re-submitting a request to re-enter the school. Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

Yesterday, our 5th grade students enjoyed a morning full of STEM activities focused on force and motion. Students engaged in competitions with their robots they created, completed hands-on activities and practiced test-taking strategies!

We will participate in a spirit week with themed days - be sure to look over the days carefully and plan your week of outfits. Our Agriculture Club had their first in-person meeting last Friday! Each child was able to choose a vegetable, an herb and a pollinator to plant and they worked on getting their seed starters planted before springtime! 🌱❤️

We are so incredibly proud of our school-wide Spelling Bee winner who competed in the district-level Spelling Bee yesterday! Congrats on all of your hard work and dedication! ❤️

Our teachers participated in mid-year Data Days to continue monitoring student progress - our teachers work so hard to provide the best instruction for our students! A big thank you to Bubba's for providing lunch for our staff! 🤍
