Sorry parents! I know these are sooo annoying but they are fun and great for oral motor skills! We had to get them to celebrate better speech and hearing month! Or as this kiddo says “better spearmint month” 🤣
Celebrating earth day and spring time with fun activities this month! Make sure you check out our story to see what activities we have planned and how we are using them in our sessions to build our kiddos speech and language goals! #slp #speechtherapy #feedingtherapy #slp2be #neurodiversity #neurodiversityaffirming #privatepracticeslp

We don’t always need a big sensory gym or equipment to meet our kiddos sensory needs. Sometimes all you need is jumping and some tickles to fill our kids’ cup and help them regulate! #autismacceptance #slp #slp2be #neurodiversity #neurodiversityaffirming #privatepractice #sensoryslp
Feeding Therapy: Sometimes we see kids in the daycare setting and parents aren’t always available to discuss how the session went and how they can help them at home. Sending videos with detailed info can be super helpful with carrying over therapy strategies and getting parents involved when they might not be able to be a part of the session.
Happy National Employee Appreciation Day. We are so lucky to have you apart of the team. You rock today and everyday.
We love sensory bins! They’re a hands-on way to work on language development in kids of all ages. Can stimulate all the senses (taste, smell, sound, touch, sight). Motor skill development. Emotional regulation. Social skills. Tactile play. Turn-taking. You can use sensory bins with things around the house (cotton balls, rice, oats, uncooked noodles, water, cereal).
Hey all! This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to learn pedi feeding or advance in your skills with mentoring. We have found our program to be super successful. One of our clinicians has been with us a little over a year. She started her training after her 90 day probationary period. After completing her training and 6 month mentorship she is now working on her 2nd level of training for medically complex patients. Her caseload is comprised of 60% feeding patients and part of the reason for hiring is to increase the amount of feeding patients on her schedule. In less than 18 months she will have went from little experience in the area to 80-90% of her caseload being feeding patients! Reach out if you have questions.
Whats a #PMV? Also called a #passymuir valve, is a device that allows people with a #tracheostomy to direct air flow through their voice box to speak while also allowing them to breath. Check us out on tiktok @scsspecialist to see a video of one of our therapist working with a little using his pmv. Also, hit up @passymuir to learn more about the speaking valve.
Our most recent #feedingtherapy graduate! He passed his #MBS today! All clear for thins! FINALLY!! We are soooo proud of you!! 💗💗 #scss #scssclt #clt #slp
Straw blowing is a fun way to improve cheek, lip, and jaw strength. We have blown bubbles in milk, cotton balls across a table, but have you ever used a straw to blow bubbles in slime? It provides a little more resistance and can be a good activity if you are wanting to increase the difficulty of the task. #oralmotor #orofacialmyology #speechtherapy #feedingtherapy #slp #scss #scssclt #clt
Why work from a dry spoon? If they wont accept a dry spoon from you they are not going to accept one with food. We have to build up confidence and trust in the feeding partner and decrease aversion and anxiety in a safe fun way. Once they are easily and happily accepting a dry spoon then we can slowly work towards putting something on it for them to taste or eat. #scssclt #scss #feedingtherapy #slp
