This yard is booming!

The weather is warm today and the bees are swarming, two catches within 10’ of each other. The work has begun.

We start feeding the bees a pollen substitute before spring flow (when the plants start blooming) so the queen will lay more eggs and the work force is bigger before the plants start blooming. That way the hive is strong and ready to work when there is nectar to gather.

Feeding a little pollen substitute to keep the girls busy.

Girls were a little hungry today.

It’s November the 5th and the girls are still busy, at this rate they will get to watch me cook the turkey 😁.

Not the most graceful creatures in slow motion but busy none the less 😁

Had a little help earlier in the year.

This is how we start out cleaning wax

The bees decided they wanted to cleanup some frames I left in the truck.
