The Panda Cares First-Year Scholars Program is a one-time postsecondary scholarship and college success program for graduating high school seniors entering their first year of college.

*Possess a demonstrated financial need as verified by the student’s college or university.

* Possess a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

As a first-generation, low-income student, I know the importance of all three of these.

How four universities graduate their low-income students at much higher rates than average - The Hechinger Report Nationally, fewer than half of Pell Grant recipients graduate from four-year colleges within six years. But a handful of colleges with high numbers of Pell students are graduating them at the 62 percent national rate or higher.
