City Market at the Museum is a farmer's and crafter's market hosted on the museum grounds every Saturday year round from 9am-1pm.
Here's a warm welcome to the newest member of the museum family! She is the curious of the bunch and she is so brave! She wasn't shy or scared of us at all! She also loves the berries so much so her paws and mouth turned purple! (She's a bit of a messy eater). We want you all to help name her!! Please leave some name ideas in the comments! You might get to see her running around!

This Tuesday, the Fayetteville History Museum was graciously given a special gift courtesy of ELKS Lodge 1081 Membership Group. This AED will help us continue the mission of Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks and Recreation to always be prepared. Thank you for this essential gift!
Episode 4 of Adventures of Scurvy!
Scurvy was out and about today and was curious about our museum! Sometimes (like in the first photo) he likes to show how strong he is! πͺ He can be a show-off! π

At the end of this Saturday's City Market at the Fayetteville History Museum one of our vendors, Rosa, decided to be festive for Halloween and coincidentally ended up wearing the same outfit as one of our plant pots! We are all sharing our spooky spirit with each other! Our City Market is here every Saturday from 9am to 1pm. π

Just last Wednesday we met one of Scurvy's friends who lives at Festival Park! He was curious at first but a little skittish. He's not comfortable being around too many humans as Scurvy is! Today we found Scurvy waiting for the train to come and pick him up! He enjoyed a little snack while he waits. Yummy! Maybe you can guess where he plans to go. Raleigh? Charlotte? Maybe to visit family? Let me know what you think! π

Episode 2 of Adventures of Scurvy
Today we found Scurvy spying on us through our windows! He likes to look at us from the comfort of his tree and sometimes taps on our window wanting to be let in. We have multiple squirrels that run around our museum so see if you can spot the difference between Scurvy and his friends! Let us know!

You can find this sign at the corner of Ann and Lamon streets near downtown any old day but on Friday, October 11, 18 and 25th at noon you will find museum staff waiting to give you a guided tour. Learn about the 3 cemeteries that share this space and meet some of the people here who impacted the story of Fayetteville.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the loss of a veteran City Market vendor, Margaret Calhoun aka The Stitchwitch. She was with the market for many years and visitors to our market will miss her terribly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Dan and her family.

Our military exhibit space underwent a makeover! As much as we love creating new exhibits, we also enjoy rejuvenating our existing exhibits to offer new experiences for visitors when they come. Come to the museum to check it out!
