UCM at the U of A

We’d like to introduce the UCM Leadership Initiative Interns for the fall semester. Interns will be hosting events, leading programs, and working on projects at UCM. We are excited to see their ideas and contributions to UCM this fall. (l-r) Toria Brock, Mason Pfeiffer, Lauren Hemm, Darren Black, and Nora Miller.

Add United Campus Ministry to your weekly plan this semester. UCM is located on campus next to the Delta Delta Delta sorority house (902 W. Maple St). The doors are open every day so you can run by and grab a snack or hang out between classes. Each week there will be two to four events to connect with UCM and make new friends. Follow UCM and watch stories each day for the details. We can’t wait to see you!

We are having a party in October to celebrate 60 years of the UCM building. If you are an alumni or know any, we would love to connect. Please help us connect with as many alumni as you know so that we can invite EVERYONE!

Last week, Carol and Kristi joined other Campus Ministers and friends at the UKirk National Conference, held at Ferncliff this year. We saw current student, ,who is on staff this summer. We saw Pastor Becky, who was one of the chaplains at camp. We spent time with UCM alum, , a recent Louisville Seminary grad and on the conference planning team. We saw alum, Emily Wernsdorfer Ho**er. We got a great tour from . Kristi got to see one of her church friends having a grand time as a camper and we rocked matching shirts at some point on each of the three days. It was a great time!

Kristi and Carol will be around all week if you need anything! We’ll be in the building on Monday, May 6 if you’d like to drop by to see us or by appointment after that.

Drop by between noon and 2 on February 14th to observe Ash Wednesday at UCM with Rev. Ryan Pfeiffer. There will be imposition of ashes and a chance to pause and reflect. Ash Wednesday also happens to be Valentine’s day this year so we will have treats for those who drop by!

For Christians, Ash Wednesday begins the season of Lent, a 40-day season of fasting and reflection culminating in Holy Week and the Easter Sunday celebration of Jesus’ Resurrection.
