Picked up some really unusual pieces today at Brown & Thigpen’s auction that I couldn’t wait to share. First and foremost is a set of MJ Madden ( Bangor ME) graduated brass sleigh bells (25) that is 7’ long, on a single strap. This is a killer piece that you don’t see often for the serious primitive collectors. Also picked up 3 various Longhorn Steer wall mounts ( one with a scalloped mirror) for you hats and coats. Great man cave and western theme and cabin pieces. Finally added to my selection of cow/steer bells all with original clappers. Closed Sunday and Monday and reopen Tuesday. Have a great weekend.
Need to call someone? We can help you out. We have wood wall phones, candlesticks and ringer boxes, and rotary dials( one tiuquoise). Open today till 5 and10:30-5 on Saturday.

Our store is packed after our picking trip to Ohio. We picked up lots and lots of “stuff. To mention a few: Amish made solid oak settee bench, copper apple butter 12 gallon kettle on stand and copper riser with lid ( made by Bucyrus Copper works, d. Pickens), cow bells, metal birds, enterprise #1 coffee grinder, Longaberger, Larkin desk, Macy barrister bookcase, oak side tables, lots and lots of quality smalls. Bringing in tomorrow a unique buggy/sleigh bench that seats two. (Great porch/family room piece). OpenSaturday 10:30- 5 and regular hours next week.
Years Gone By Antiques will be closed until Thursday 0ctober 10th.
Fantastic weather today at the Liberty Antique Festival. Lots of dealers set up and open until 4pm.
As a heads up Years Gone By Antiques will not be open the rest of the week. We are doing the Liberty Antique Festival in Liberty Nc on Friday and Saturday. The forecast is for rain Friday and sunshine on Saturday. Don’t let the rain stop you, most dealers have large tents and will be setting up. Umbrellas, raincoats and goulashes (boots) welcome and you’re ready to do some pickin.
Lots of quality antiques and vintage collectibles. Not to early to start your Christmas shopping. All of our merchandise is ready for your home and for wrapping. Brought in many unique items this week. We will be open all week. As a heads up next week will be limited as we will be doing the Liberty NC Antique Festival on Sept 27 & 28th, so if you have had you eyes on something better come down and get it, because most likely it will be heading to Liberty.
We picked up primitive folding Wedding/Wine tables last week during our picking trip. These are not old but have a unique vintage look to them. We only have two left. Also picked up some vintage trunks, uranium glass, child’s doll iron ice cream set and much more. Open today until 5 and Saturday 10:30-5. We have the air on so come on down.

Had a great weekend of Pick’in in South Carolina. Found a great early oak blind door stepback dry sink with a zinc liner. Very unusual folding politician desk with document storage. Early 19th century cheese cutter rocker with bent spindles and original tole painting. A collection of early boxes ( apothecary, cigar, liquor and trophy). Lots of green uranium glass. Picked up some great finds this morning. Four sets of vintage Italian alabaster large table grapes. ( these are really nice and several have been asking for them). Great western electric candlesticks and ringer box( wired if you have a land line, if not still a great collectible), 1868 Ripley &Co double handle kero lamp, great set of forged double candle holder wall sconces, nice yelloware, a 5’ knight in shining armor to protect you and much more . (Also bringing in a 4drawer empire dresser, small drop leaf and two side tables with drawers late Friday). Come down this weekend and check us out.
Thanks to all our friends, old customers and now new customers who supported us at the Liberty Antique Festival last weekend. Great show. We picked up a fantastic side table at an estate auction last week that has strong NC provenance. If you collect NC primitive pieces you need to give this your attention. The table was made by Edward Harrison Sullivan (1872- 1968) when he was 14 years old in 1886. My research found that he was from Conrad Hill Township, Davidson, NC. The table is Wanut and southern pine and is 30”w x 21” d x 29” h with a center shaved drawer, great local piece. Come down and see us this weekend. We were recently nominated as one of the top five antique stores in the Fayetteville area.
